DemonGroover 8836 Posted February 12, 2013 Just out of interest i have a little scenario (which isn't really uncommon - i have come across it a few times) and i ask you: What would you do and why?You are creeping towards Cherno after having just recently spawned. You have managed to find a hatchet and a Makarov. As you enter Cherno you hear DMR shots from within - a sniper.As you are moving through the city you suddenly hear a call on Direct Chat - someone has been hit, has broken legs and is asking for help. You manage to locate the player - his is in an alley and looks pretty geared up. He asks if you have morphine as he has run out. He then asks if you would go to the hospital and get some - in exchange he will give you a ghillie, a good gun (doesn't say what) and a GPS.To get to the hospital you have to run the gauntlet of the DMR sniper as he is camped somewhere and killing anything that he sees.My question is simple - what would you do? Help the player by risking yourself to get some morphine. Leave him. Or would you simply kill him and take the ghillie, gun and GPS? There is a high chance that the DMR guy will kill you while you are looting anything in cherno, so why not help a survivor in the process. Sakka 28 Posted February 12, 2013 Yeah in most situations I like to try and help. In that situation I would. I would want to try to kill the sniper because bandits need an enemy as well. mr_chabowski@live.co.uk 2416 Posted February 12, 2013 (edited) DayZ is all about your interactions with other players, and it's a LOT more rewarding when you take risks.I'd ask the guy if he's got something with a little more clout than my Makarov though.I'm not about to kill him for any amount of gear.If he turns out to be a nasty character afterwards, that's a different story. Jonsse 69 Posted February 12, 2013 I would probably help him. As many have said, I'm a fresh spawn and have nothing to lose but a lot to gain. And the feeling of helping someone out when they need it is like nothing in the world, even if it's just in a game. I just don't have the mean streak to just kill him and take his gear. He actually risked himself (and was shot at plenty of times) before returning with some morphine.I then shot him.EDIT: I am joking!!! The Ghillie thing will always have me fire first as opposed to 'wait and see' option. Wait and see means death by ghillie more often than death by anyone else in game. I don't generally promise anything if i am needing Morph and i would be worried this dude was just going to pop me, especially in Cherno, its a pvp city.
