MattSL97 0 Posted February 11, 2013 We have getting to cold where you can get an infection, but that rarely happens except on Namalsk. I think we should add heat stroke so it is more realistic than just having like frostbite. Maybe if you run a lot on a very sunny day you will get to hot and you will have to use an item such as an ice pack and have to drink more water. Maybe if you don't use ice pack you will pass out and loose blood or something like that.
enforcer1975 1111 Posted February 11, 2013 Heat stroke + dehydrated + a lot of water isn't healthy..
bilbey 17 Posted February 11, 2013 i think its a good idea. Being too cold make the player shake so having heatstroke could do something like blur the players vision?
ZomboWTF 527 Posted February 11, 2013 so you have to stop running every few minutes not to get a heatstroke?i think travelling on foot is slow enough as it is right now

mr_chabowski@live.co.uk 2416 Posted February 11, 2013 (edited) It'd be good to have something else to stay aware of. Best bet is to avoid becoming dehydrated in the first place, but we all know that's not going to be made easy.I think in-game it should be represented by blurred vision, to replicate dizziness (as bilbey said) and the lack of ability to keep running without getting KOd.I'm not so sure how to suggest your character suffering nausea, but IIRC that's another of the signs.Of course you're eventutally going to pass out and never get up, unless you find shade and rest/rehydrate or someone gives you a saline solution IV.EDIT:So it'd be nice if there were saline solution bags to be had at hospitals too.Maybe some of the nice glucose ones? Some of us just don't have time for fluids by mouth. Edited February 11, 2013 by Chabowski
willey.erd@oundleschool.org.uk 506 Posted February 11, 2013 i think travelling on foot is slow enough as it is right nowIf anything, it's way too fast, it's just that Chernarus is too empty at the moment to notice. SA should sort this with more towns/interesting places all over the map.But yeah, I don't know many people who can keep up a hard run for hours on end. ZomboWTF 527 Posted February 11, 2013 i also dont know people taking 8 makarov bullets like a champthere are borders where the game beceomes unplayable, right now on vanilla dayz there are NO cars in the towns, every single car is hidden in god-knows-where, mainly the border woodlands, and good luck getting there when you have to stop running for a minute every 5 minutes

enforcer1975 1111 Posted February 11, 2013 so you have to stop running every few minutes not to get a heatstroke?i think travelling on foot is slow enough as it is right nowYou are pretty fast with almost 20km/h running speed...and imagine the gear most players are carrying ( AS50 TWS + 12 mags in the pack and another AS50 with 12 mags in the hand )
