dayz turn off friendly fire

I am pretty sure this has been asked / answered but could not find a good answer.

I have just setup a dedicated server (private hive) and have been poking around the mysql databse.

Is there any tweek that could be made to effect the amount of damage you take from certian weapons or something

that could be used to essentially "turn off friendly fire"?

- i dont think u can disable PvP by editing/disabling damage of weapons

everything is controlled by the arma 2 files

This would just kill the game its about the relations between survivors if you want to play without this play a singleplayer version.

Ok, I get it. We don't want to have the ability to turn of friendly fire.

To be honest I did not really want it, my work buddy rage quit because a 14 year old by killed him and

I am trying to see if there is a way to set up my public server to satisfy him, was looking forward to

hunting zombies with the peeps at work...

It would be fun for a little while, I'm sure. But once you get your bearings in the game you'll find the zombies are a bit of a joke...

What makes Dayz a rush is the PVP aspect, whether or not you kill people. Because eventually you'll have to go into a town looking for supplies and you'll bump into a player who doesn't want your company.
