HELP ME PLS!!

So like most newbie's in the DayZ gaming forums, i cant play DayZ!

The problem for me is..well at least let me start heer, i had some problems and it was about keys so i fixed it and now i can play arma 2

i have ran both games arma 2 and arma 2 OA....

It gives me an error in game before getting into server list saying..

No entry bin config blah blah blah no vehicles blah blah blah...

AND even befor that it says "DayZ anim requires addon CA_Dubbing_Counterattack..i have looked up solutions but none seem to work..

In most tutorials they say go to program files (x86) BUT my arma 2 and arma 2 OA are in my backup so i dont have those files to rely on so i had to make my own and put new downloads in those files as said to do that would fix it..and of course it was not fixed

EVEN AFTER THAT when i try to join a server anyways it says "BAD VERSION"

i really need help and most tutorials are not helping..or im confused and not doing them right,

uninstall/delete everything..... re install arma 2 and arma oa

Run arma 2 then run arma oa (exit once you get to menu screen)

Re install dayz commander and install dayz in the update tab, and update the beta patch there too then launch into a server from dayz commanders server browser

If it says your missing something it may be your joining other maps, dayz only installs chenaurus, you will need to download the other maps you want to play on in the update tab again in dayz commander

"Bad version" means you need to update your DayZ/ARMA II beta patch, or you're trying to play a map you haven't installed. If you're using DayZCommander, this is simply done in the "Install/update" page.

Also, Program files (x86) is simply the default directory. If you have installed ARMA II to a different directory, simply switch out "C:\Program files (x86)\..." with wherever you installed yours, and the rest of the steps will remain the same.

If all else fails, a clean install usually helps.

Let me know if you manage to fix this, or if you need further help.

Shortcut issue, Its like your common folder is not being picked up!

This is how I fixed

There were a few other error messages like "No entry 'bin\config.bin/CFGVehicles/Land_Fire_barrel.scope"

Install Arma 2, patch to 1.05, then patch to 1.11.

Run the game -might have to install battle-eye.

Install Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead.

Install patch 1.62 + lastest beta patch!

In the OA folder there is a batch file called _runA2CO and _runA2CObeta.

What this does it links A2 with OA in the registry, it also adds 2 shortcuts in the OA folder to the addons folder and the Dtr folder in A2.

Still come up with the above error. So I deleted the 2 shortcuts. Copied Addons and the Dtr folder from Arma 2 to the Operations Arrowhead directory.

=) this fixed my error of deleted stuff. I not sure why it dident work, maybe a windows 8 thing?

Basically:

1. Go get DayZCommander. www.DayZCommander.com

2. Run it and install the latest version of:

DayZCommander

ARMA II Beta Patch

DayZ mod

Any maps you intend to play on

3. Search for a server using DayZCommander. Make sure to tick "Hide wrong ARMA version" and "Hide wrong DayZ version"

4. Let us know if it works.

Should i download dayz commander from dayz site or from their site?

I don't think it makes a difference, so just go with their site.

Launch DayZ Commander after Re-installing ARMA 2, ARMA 2 Operation Arrow Head, Then make sure all the Clients are up to date by clicking the install/update button in the top right of DayZ Commander, if it still doesn't work well idk maybe verify cache integrity.
