I need to know if m desktop can run DayZ

Recommended Posts

Honestly I don't know a thing about gaming PCs, so i want to know if my desktop can handle the game to make it run smooth. I have HP Pavilion Media Center m8407c Desktop PC, with a intel core 2 quad processor Q6600

I'm not much of a graphics guy, so i don't really care about lowering the resolution.

Is it the model with or without the 8500GT graphics card?

To be honest I assume it will struggle either way, Arma 2 is a demanding game, just ask my Phenom ii X4 940 and Ati6950 even mine struggles in some of the cities.

Also if you went down the route of upgrading your graphics card you'd most likely need to upgrade the 300w Power supply them things ship with.

To save time and to be blunt... to answer your question I'd have to say no, in its current state, it can't, or even if it could then it would be a pretty bad experience in terms of how many FPS you could get, even at low resolutions and minimum graphic quality settings. The game would likely be choppy as hell and hard to play.

yeah I tried playing before and the frame rate was horrible most of the time.

I've actually been looking for an affordable gaming laptop, any suggestions? Price range 700-1200

700-1200 what exactly? If that's $ you'll really struggle to find a laptop that will run ARMA II well. Why not go for a desktop machine?

Anyway, can you use the 'Can I Run It?' thread instead of creating a new topic please?..
