Suggestion: Gasifier

A gasifier is basically a double boiler that you put wood into, the wood 'cooks' and gives off a burnable gas which can be fed into most gas burning devices.

My suggestion is to add these into Standalone. Either something you craft for a car so you use wood as fuel rather than gas (think I saw something that mentioned that fuel would be rarer in standalone but can't confirm if its 'going to be in' or if it was someone's wishful thinking), disadvantage would be you'd lose some passenger/cargo space, would take a lot of resources to craft (can't just craft it out in the woods, would have to make one in a workshop, perhaps adding it directly to the vehicle), would make the vehicle stand out more (larger profile, smoke cloud, ect). This could also be an alternative way to power generators for camps and bases (build one right you can generate gas which powers a generator, boils water, and can cook food on, but that might be a bit overdoing it for the game), disadvantage would be mild danger of it exploding (forget exactly what circumstances one blows up in real life), visible smoke, and having to be tended to almost constantly (say 2 wood piles provide 15 mins of 'fuel'/power.

I don't know 100% how one works, just remember seeing an article about cars pre WW2 using this system in countries that had oil embargoes placed on them and on a couple of different TV shows. One of them featured a guy that made some fucking weird ass machine with a railroad handcar, a broken ATV, and a gasifier that he made out of different materials he found in a scrapyard. (I forget the show/guy's name but one of his rules was 'Safety third.'). I don't think that its possible to say make a gasifer in a base, somehow collect the fuel it produces, and then just pour it into a gas tank (its an actual gas, not a liquid)

I swear I have seen something like this on a tv show a while ago the colony? I think it was anyway I'm all for this or some kind of vehicle powered by this.

YES thats when I first saw it, on The Colony. They used it to power their generator at first till they found some solar panels, then they made a larger one for their escape vehicle.

It was an alright show although season two was just meh.
