DayZ at "149 FPS"

Recommended Posts

I was personally looking at my screenshot folder, when I noticed a particular screenshot.

* When I hit "149 FPS" on a server with 30 players in it.

- The server was a expert server hosted by BMRF.

Here is the screenshot with proof.

Specs?. And its night time my friend.

What is the difference between day and night?

* What was even more interesting, if I stare directly to the sky, I would hit 180+.

The model detail will remain that same, it does not matter if it's day or night.

There is a difference at night , even my friends with low end pc's prefer playing night time . Test it out in the daytime then well talk ;)

In day time i hit over 260 fps when i look the sky's. and 300+ at night.

Computer specs?.

LOL at the picture above. Getting in bush's looking out on a field which requires nothing. go in look at chernarus. My mate's MSI GTX680 Lightning Edition. Which is the fastest 680 card on the market hits under the 40s in fps.

Ok, give me a min.

What is interesting is, that you wanted a day screenshot 1st.

* But don't worry, I'll soon be at the city, I've got quite the run to it.

Yeah, view distance plays a big part. On that last screenshot it looks like the view distance is about 600 meters.

And when you go into cherno your FPS will dip below 50 at the very least.

View distance is at the default 1,000.

Here is Cherno.

I'll climb up top, to take another.

I would love to have 70 FPS where you are standing. But i can't afford new computer parts just yet.

I have a I7 2600K at stock clock (3.5 GHZ), 8GB 1600 MHz ram and a GTX580. What do you have?

And how many zombies where there? That doesn't seem to be a standard server, maybe the amount of objects and zombies spawned are reduced?

Either way, i would love to have 70 FPS in cherno...

EDIT: My view distance is set at 2.5 K though. And the server tends to limit it to 1.2 K. Maybe i should fiddle some with my viewdistance settings and see if i can get the same results.

EDIT #2:

Oh and the server limits the view distance, your 1K setting is overridden by the server. And to me it looked like the viewdistance was set at 600 meters in your previous shot. Change your view distance to 6-700 and see if you notice a difference, then set it to 300 to compare. You should notice an immediate FPS boost as you set your view distance lower than the servers current setting.

Put distance at 10k Like the real players.

The DayZ mission does not allow users to go over 1,000m view distance.

* Ask any veteran of DayZ that question.

Here is a better view of the 1,000m view distance.

The server can set the view distance higher than 1K, the default is 1K but the server admin can increase the max to 10K if he wanted to... Not that he would want to because it would melt peoples computers.

EDIT:

On your last screenshot, i don't see a single zombie. That may be the reason you have such nice FPS as i pointed out earlier, i bet there is very limited loot too.

My lowest drop is at "59 - 70" in cherno.

* You might be right about the distance, I'll try another server.

28 players in the server.

Wow, I wish I could get half that. Right now I'm lucky to get 25 fps. Guess that's what comes of playing on a notebook.

I have a 680 card and on some servers In cities it can drop to almost 20 fps if there hasn't been a restart for over 5 hours. Although it might be that I'm running off an i5 at the moment. Most other times in the wilderness/looking at nothing important with the V-Sync off I can hit easily 150 - 180 fps.

I'm jelly. I can't justify spending that much money on a PC though.
