(Solved)BAF and PMC runtime error

I Already contacted bis support but i was wondering if some folk that run on the same problem and solved it or has some ideas can help here quicker.

I purchased from gamersgate PMC and BAF (Private Military Company, British Armed Forces) expansions but i get the same error for both of the installations(The error is attached as a screenshot). I tried Reinstalling all the Visual C++ Redistributables ( 2005, 2008, 2010, 2012 both x64 and x86 versions) i deleted the left overs from OA installation from Program Data folder, Disable Antivirus, Run as Admin, Compability mode and what so ever i found on the other forums but no luck at all.

I think it's a windows 8 thingy but i don't want to go for a downgrade so soon. One more noticable thing is that ACR expansion installer is working just fine on Windows 8 so maybe it's bis that did not update their installer. Anyway.....

My (important) system specs are:

Windows 8 x64 Pro

AMD Phenom x6 1075t 3Ghz

ASUS GTX550Ti 1GB GDDR5

Kingstone 2Gb x 4 1600Mhz

Since i'm using windows 8 i use the windows defender which is fairly good to me.

are you running the installer in admin mode and comparability or just the unpacker

I tried both of the options. No luck.

Compability for XP, Vista plus Win 7

it unpacks the files to a temp folder before installing have you run it from the temp folder as admin

Yes sir i did ! And Test it with all possible compability modes except Windows 95 and Me :P

I'll tag the Thread as Solved. Finally found the solution. It came from Sprocket and published by FedaykinWolf from BIs forum.

Since BIs has not patched the Expansions installers for Windows 8 compability this is the workaround. Make sure you have the x64 and x86 C++ 2005 Redistributable Packages. The rest are explained below.

You must run the BAF or PMC setup file / Sprocket DLC thing. when / if you hit the error message "Runtime Error".

1. Open the Folder: C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Temp\BAF

2. for both files "setup.exe" and "ReactorActivate.exe"

3. Right click on each .exe and choose Properties then the Compatibility tab.

4. Check "Run this program as an Admin"

Do the same for C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Temp\PMC

Well i did not thought that the Activator needed to be admin privileged too. Anyway 1.000.000 thanks for your help again mate :)
