donate custom load outs?

Sooo I was wondering do people have any success with selling custom load outs on their servers? If you do what kind of load out do you offer and how much would you charge? Odviously any donation would be for the server i'm not thinking of becoming a millionaire here. Just curios really.... Myself i would not pay a dime! i would rather find gear on my own and till then defend myself with the first double barrel shot gun i found. Anyway let me know what you guys think/do about donations for load outs. thanks!

I'm against any kind donate for gear system just because it ruins the fun and there are those "people" who want an AS50 on spawn.

If you did do it I would suggest giving them a compass and Winchester with one mag, 1 stick of morphine and a piece of food and drink, possibly a Czech backpack but that's being generous.

I'm actually taking polls on the server and amazingly ppl seem to be for it.... i currently have it setup to spawn with AKM which imo seems powerful enough to me if not too much but i guess not enough for some of them? idk like i said i wouldn't pay for it but guess its a different time. from the poll: $3 for assault rifle and $5 for sniper... that too much?? to little?? stupid?? again i have never done anything like this nor would i pay for something like this.

Dude $7 for an assault and at least $13-15 to for a sniper.

Make them low tier no M107's on spawn. try an M4A1 for the rifle try a CZ550.

I am a moderator over at Bmrf.me and here is the donations that we do. all are ballanced and do not give ayone anything that they could not find in a few minutes. Other then some of the custom skins. Also keep in mind these are 3 very popular server hives with a 4th namalsk server. This is a whitelisted server and has active admins. People purchase these all the time but more to support the servers then to get the rewards.

Donation Rewards! (UPDATED W/ MORE SKINS!)

Donating to our server will allow you to spawn every character with a better starting loadout. We try to keep this balanced and reasonable, but it does give you a boost and make creating a fresh character a bit easier, specifically navigation as all $25 tiers include a map and usually a compass. In addition, you can also donate for a military skin that is not available in any preset donation pack or lootable in-game. Backpacks will display on all of these models.

To donate to our server, simply click the "Donate" button at the top of the forums along the black bar. PayPal will allow you to leave a note, and in that note

please specify your forum username and which donation reward package you want.

Purchasing any tier of rewards will grant you a colored forum name, the ability to edit your title, and access to a private VIP forum.

We offer many donation packages currently for DayZ, ranging from 10 - $50 packages below, we believe that these are both rewarding and balanced to the game.

yes high traffic. usually 3 servers maxed at 50 ppl 24 hours or close. very little hackers is why we get the donations

I would also like to say that it is absolutely the ASSHOLE of the DAYZ community.

I would also like to point out http://bigt.hopto.org/stats/ which if you lookup charb has a played time of 4747 minutes = about 80 hours with a whopping 2 survivor kills, they tried to take my shit so i shot them.

Private hives like this ONLY fuels bullshit PVP and forced combat situations because there is NO penalty for death which goes AGAINST EVERYTHING this mod stands for.

The only reason to do this... is because you and your 3-4 friends are INCAPABLE of spending enough between you to host a DAYZ server, which I guess means you are... what 12? it is like 50 bucks for a 50 man server isn't it? that seriously is 10 bucks between 5 guys... but w/e

I play on a server with donations for equipment like the above and it has totally destroyed the game , the balance is gone and its just become a first person shooter and a money grab by the owners .

Why don't you get even angrier about the fact that some people enjoy DayZ for other reasons than you enjoy it. Also, be madder about what people do on their Private Hives.

What about vehicles? I see lots of gear and equipment mentioned but no vehicles?

I could quite like the idea of playes being able to purchase a vehicle, $2.50 for pushbike, $5.00 for ATV/Motorbike, $7.50 for pikcup truck, $10.00 for UAZ........ or something like that I think could work nicely. And with only vehicles being an option, you wouldnt get any of the unbalanced gameplay, just more happy players as they have their vehicles :)
