When i start ArmA 2 OA or DayZ it tells be 'Bad serial number give in setup' and i can't find a way to stop this, youtube does'nt help with it!!

When I try to start ArmA 2OA or DayZ it tells me 'bad serial number given in setup'. I have tried doing what YouTube videos tell me, but it doesn't work with me, and now I cant play DayZ can anybody help me? Also I am using Windows 8.

did you start arma 2 oa in admin can we have more details like steam/retail/gog . version numbers of arma/arma2 etc

I actually wasn't downloading hacks... hacks would ruin the game for me because it would just be boring thanks. if you can't help then don't bother replying.
