Useing A Chopper As Storage And Other Stuff

Recommended Posts

Hey :) im not actually playing yet but setting up plans and useing the arma editor to get used to the map :P

We have a three man team that will definitely be playing weve gotten a few ideas on how to survive and avoid being raided. I just wanna list them and you guys can tell me what you think thx.

1.) Grabbing a mofuckn chopper and useing it as storage.

We will get fuel by dropping 2 players into the airfield to secure it while the third refuels the chopper.

2.) Chopper as lookout + Car/Bus as storage.

Chopper just keeps an eye out for raiding parties and we edit our course based on that

3.) Somewhere isolated like the woods.

This might be the best way to survive but because of the games realism i think tracking other players might

be easy by just observeing where they go for an half an hour or so.

Any other ideas??

Using any vehicle as a storage unit would make sense in terms of being able to relocate etc... depending upon player activity within certain areas and would as such work as a movable base. Yet at the moment I would not recommend using any vehicle, let alone a helo to store all of your most valuable items.... As if and when a "hacker" does join the server first thing they will do normally is head straight for the helo... unsuprisingly seeing as though it is valuable form of travel :P My best bet to store valuables would be on your character or in a very well hidden tent.

Just my opinion, but I think your best bet would be to find a nice secluded area of thick woods both covering aireal and ground cover requirements and then place som tents there. Aside from hackers though, this is DayZ and as a result of player freedom in movement and curiosity everything gets found sooner or later ;)

Goodluck! :D

Keep Well.

The problem with a chopper or any vehicle as storage occurs when you're not logged in. They are far more visible than tents (especially with peripheral dots active) and when someone takes your vehicle/chooper, there goes all your gear + your ride.

Not unless its on a private hive with custom vehicles, no.

i kept that in mind but i just trust myself with my items more than letting them hang around. hmmm.... maybe leaving the chopper on a building somewhere ?

Some will park it on a building, inaccessible from anywhere but the rooftop, which you can't climb onto. Of course, some folks will see that, be turned off, and shoot up the heli on the rooftop. You log in, destroyed heli next to you, and no way down.

The only semi guaranteed thing in this game is logging off and on with the gear on your body. 2 primaries and a sidearm if you've got a decent backpack, + ammo for both. That will always (save from glitches) be there when you log back in. I rarely see the need for hoarding 7 other weapons that you'll never use.

Its not as easy as you think it is, and choppers are hard as fuck to hide, ive never kept one for over a day

Klesh knows, he helped me raid a camp the other day.

I still fondly recall raiding the UAZ & Ural camp. Crawling for like 30 minutes. :D
