Hikurac 115 Posted January 19, 2013 Well, my CD key has been stolen. Before you say it's my fault for a download, virus, yada yada yada, or whatever, it's not, just read.I was looking up how anyone could of gotten my CD Key without using fake software, viruses, etc, and I found the answer. There's a Arma 2 OA keygen that's distributes random numbers/letters similar to the keys issued when you purchase the game, i'm guessing it hardly ever lands on an active key, but if it does, then the script kiddie can just use a key changer to make use of it. If you've never downloaded a program that's harmful or given away your CD key number but there's someone on your account running around causing havoc, then guess what, they landed on your CD key, just like mine, plain bad luck. I'm not gonna ask for a refund, considering that Bohemia doesn't have the common sense to enable one key per computer, I doubt they'll have the generosity to send me a free one.All I want is for my CD key to be globally banned. Before I was a male hero with tons of humanity, now apparently i'm a female bandit carrying an M107, a PKM, and a FN Fal all in the same slot. The last thing I need is some kid running around terrorizing servers using CD Key, so I might as well help the community a little, and take us both down together. So, do you guys know a way to get battleeye to global ban me without downloading and using scripts myself?
Testwd3r235 2810 Posted January 19, 2013 (edited) Go to BattlEye, they not only control the bans but guess what...the bans to! :o Edit:Send your CD key to them in the message, if you have steam right click then left click view CD key. Hikurac 115 Posted January 19, 2013 Yea, I just sent battleeye the message, i'm expecting a automated reply <_<, just like Bohemia. I also wanna know who's idea it was to enable the use of one key on multiple computers, it's common sense to have that disabled.
OrLoK 16185 Posted January 19, 2013 Are not the chances of a keygen generating the same key miniscule? I'd check your PC.
Hikurac 115 Posted January 19, 2013 I've already done a boot time/full scan with avast, malwarebytes, and multiple other antivirus softwares. It's not my computer my friend.
OrLoK 16185 Posted January 19, 2013 Key stealers won't always be detectable by AV software. FYI
ididi9 (DayZ) 53 Posted January 19, 2013 (edited) Lets do some math.25 Characters. Each character can be one of 26 Letters + 9 Numbers.35 to the power of 25 is 3.9966959347247031355112791061401e+38 by Windows' calculator. Lets say there are around 2 Million copies of OA. Thats a chance of 1 in 1.9983479673623515677556395530701e+32 keys the keygen throws out will active... Edited January 19, 2013 by ididi9
Hikurac 115 Posted January 19, 2013 I've NEVER downloaded a arma 2 related program besides dayz commander. It's not my computer, I've done registry scans, boot time scans, roolkit scans, etc.

ididi9 (DayZ) 53 Posted January 19, 2013 Yea this computer is only accessed by me, in my own home, password protected, all that jazz.Well someone has got your key somehow, And I think its near impossible for it to be a keygen.
Testwd3r235 2810 Posted January 19, 2013 (edited) You guys thinking that he has hacked, why would he want the key banned? Edited January 19, 2013 by MacabreLlama99
Hikurac 115 Posted January 19, 2013 (edited) It may have been an MIM attack, backtracking, arp poisoning, or other various forms of digital assaults, but not from a virus download. Kinda bothers me that the majority of the DayZ community thinks that "hacking" can only be applied because of lack of security on the victims behalf. Hikurac 115 Posted January 19, 2013 Lol... the whole point of asking for a global ban is to stop the kiddie from hurting the rest of the community, or at least halt his progress.
Mos1ey 6301 Posted January 19, 2013 I'm not sure they'll be able to do it unless you can prove your ownership of the CD key somehow but I'd contact BattlEye support, for a start.
OrLoK 16185 Posted January 19, 2013 I for one an bot assuming he hacked, I just don't think the keygen idea is "likely".However, as mZLY states, BE is your best bet.I'm careful about what I download, but I have been caught out myself in the past by a nasty app.RgdsLoK

Dr-Shade 83 Posted January 19, 2013 I'm not sure they'll be able to do it unless you can prove your ownership of the CD key somehow but I'd contact BattlEye support, for a start. Shouldnt be too hard to prove ownership... if it was a steam purchase, then steam will be able to verify... And if its retail, then he will be the only person in the world with an official hard copy of his key...
Hikurac 115 Posted January 19, 2013 Yea, waiting for a reply, sent Bohemia a message and a support ticket regarding the stolen key, can you guess what their response was? An automated msg with tutorials on how to set up the game...
Hikurac 115 Posted January 19, 2013 I'm trying to get a reply from battleeye but they seem pretty quiet, yea I can show them the key and steam receipt. Lol orlok, yes this is my computer.
TheDesigner 1197 Posted January 20, 2013 I mean, post your GUID and within a week some scripty will have it banned. But, I've heard of people's data getting corrupted and switched around and unless you get some message saying "CD key in use" I wouldn't jump to this conclusion.
