Does this normally happen?

The other day after playing DayZ at my friends for a while I decided to get it myself. So after buying Arma 2 Combined Operations and downloading DayZ and The DayZ commander I have my first go. So about 10 after I spawn and after getting used to the games controls I headed into some town and I go to enter this house and as soon as I do, the screen goes black then comes back on and I've been teleported into the sky in a parachute, and all around me are cows in parachutes but I do see one other player in a chute. We then fall to the ground and die instantly even though we touch down very slowly due to our parachutes. The chat box then comes to life and people start talking about hackers, so I believe it was just hackers nevertheless I was just wondering if anyone has encountered the same thing that I have?

Not that specific problem but yeah, I've been in servers where the whole population has died en masse. Your hacker was just a bit more imaginative than most. Get off the public servers and your exposure to hackers will decrease exponentially. My personal favourite is uk46 (WWW.balotabuddies.net)

yeah i haven't encountered a single hacker on UK46. maybe i've just been lucky?

balotabuddies have a slightly extensive application process but it's for a reason. i definetely recommend it if you wanna avoid seeing flying cows in the future.
