Many talking about SA and how great it will be. Honestly im not much of a graphic critic, gameplay i most important to me.

Ofcourse this is the mod and SA is the game.

did we really need the glock icon? are you astouned by rockets interior designes? I think most people expect some content to be unleashed by now!

New vehicles and weapons?? where are those, i could have made those glasses shine and those wallpapers to look nice in 5mins in an architect program myself.

Honestly DayZ is getting boring, i havent played chernarus in probably 3 months and mostly nowdays my friends play wasteland or someting else.. DayZ will die before its released.

Next patch will introduce multiple weapons and aswell some vehicles. So you'll get what you wish for. :)

Here is what has actually happened:

Dean stopped regularly making updates for dayz about 6-7 months ago, and made his last probably around 3-4 months ago I think it was. He would have started work on the SA anywhere between 3-6 months ago. Dean spent a shitload of time fixing bugs, and dealing with exploits (there was a point where pretty much 3 patches in a row were to fix duping). Since then I think we all get the feeling that instead of spending 99% of his time bug fixing, he's changed tactics, and is try a whole new bunch of things, hence why he's doing the closed testing.

He said himself he'll be doing updates for what he hopes to be atleast a year after SA release. If you read his Q&A's, you'd know he's got big plans for the next 6 months or so (he's already started some big things that he's keeping a secret).

Cool story though, there are still over 70,000 people who play daily. The figure on the main page of 43,000 is just showing public hives, which are the least popular servers at the moment in comparison to private hives. So I guess you really are the only one who doesn't enjoy the game. I don't get why people come onto forums just to post negative comments. I can understand constructive criticism, because it makes the game better, but this whole "I don't like this game, so it's not going to do well" shit, we don't need it.

I agree with Stig. He's working on the standalone so obviously the mod's going to have less updates recently.

There's going to be a completely revamped medical system, loads of customization options, more guns and vehicles... What more do you need to know? It'll be worth the wait.

Thats also a big question to me. Personally i try to ignore posts like that, he could do much better with his time instead of judging a game that he haven't even see yet. After playing the mod for 8 months i agree it can become boring but saying the SA is going to be shit without any fact to backup his argument is pretty close to trolling imo

I'd also like to point out that The Warz came out as an Alpha 3 months ago, and the only changes they've made so far have been terrible ones that have ruined the game.

Not turning this into a flame war, but putting it into perspective, a lot more has gone on behind the scene of dayz, because, you know, they're making a new game. Where as The Warz has remained the same the last 3 months,

I think that as there are presently no direct competitors that the SA will do very well, with a bit of advertising. I also think that a lot of players gave up playing as the original release date for the SA got near, but they will be back for the SA. I don't think that there have been any minor changes to the mod that have been at odds with its original vision either. Its all good.

The differences between v1744 and v175 are numerous from a scripting perspective (I'm guessing, since it has taken months). But to the uninitiated, there's nothing in there that doesn't seem like a five-minute tweak.

If you understand how difficult scripting/modding is, then you may be impressed with the changes and be able to appreciate them more. However, for the average Joe Blow who is probably expecting the mod to emerge gloriously from its cocoon in the next patch, you may be disappointed.

One thing I've learned from playing/testing the betas is that 'different' does not necessarily mean 'better' or 'more interesting'. In my opinion v175 is not going to radically change a player's feelings about the game if they're already bored with it.

DayZ is boring. I quit playing the mod on a regular basis months ago. Updates on standalone progress is pretty minimal and my faith in DayZ has seriously waned. A video of actual gameplay might be nice.

It is normal for people to get bored with games, I don't play games half as long as i do with DayZ. When the SA comes out we won't be seeing you in the forums will we?

People here saying it will be a brand new game is wrong, its not.. they used Arma2 engine, rocket said so himself wich means probably 50%+ of the weapons and vehicles that already exists will also exist in SA, simply because they infact exist in real life and i hope this is not gonna be a fantasy game..

I just want a TREAT!! im sure others would like some treats aswell.... i dont care about the fancy graphics i want to see something real from the devblog that i care about.

Chill, Rocket and co will release something when the testing starts, won't be long now.

There has been mentioned new weapons also so I hope they minimise the Arma2 assets and bring in new ones like the crossbow we've seen.

The world will see from all the streamers who are testing.

Would be nice however........

A lot of people voice their concerns because they care what happens to the game.

I personally feel like the ball was dropped. This game had insane hype, and warZ jumped in and pushed a game out quicker and like it or not a lot of people don't care about the warZ/dayZ conflict. WarZ filled a market that DayZ created and the people craving the zombie survival game either bought warZ or tried to keep waiting for dayZ.

Well, a lot of people got tired of waiting.

I haven't been to the forum in months, I come back and see pretty much no hint of any type of progress, that is frustrating for someone who is anxious to see what's going to happen with the SA.
