Hello everyone,

I'd like to see DayZ in Playstation3, I think that would be awesome.

I think it would be awesome because, not everyone has good computers (for example me, :( ), PS3 has a remote controler and if we want we can buy a keyboard, but I think it is cooler to play with the PS3 controller.

And as I said alot of people don't have enough money to afford a good computer, like in my home country (portugal), not everyone has a good computer, in fact, alot of them don't even have a computer, because they choose to have a PS3 or an Xbox because it costs as much as a bad computer, or even less.

And an awesome game mod like DayZ would be awesome to have in PS3.

PS3 costs less than a computer of same specs? Are you fucking kidding me? And the games that cost considerably more (for consoles). Sell your stupid console and buy a decent computer. It is more versatile and lets you use 10 fingers instead of 2.

Isn't the PS3 that console that has the reputation of being a bitch to develop on, mainly because of it's weird "cell" architecture that require for developpers to waste time learning a system that nobody else uses?

PC to Xbox ports (and the other way) tend to be more successful simply because the Xbox is very similar to a regular PC and doesn't require any major code adaptation if your game was already a windows/directX game.

This is Gabe Newell's view on the PS3 architecture:

Did you read what I wrote? I said that in portugal a ps3 costs less than 300€, and my computer is an HP with intel core duo and Nvidia Geforce and it costed 360€ or something like that! My computer cant even handle Need for Speed Shift or Need For Speed Shift 2 with minimum graphics! And for the 3rd time YOU CAN BUY A KEYBOARD FOR PS3, so you can play with 10 fingers if you want to. Oh god no, the last thing we want is a 'consolisation' of this game. It would be so watered down, it just wouldn't be the same.

The 'you can add a keyboard to a ps3' is such a daft argument as it completely ignores the already intensive hardware usage is PC users must put up with (that's not a negative thing, BTW). Arma already requires a powerful CPU to run, not something the consoles can deliver.

I also think if the game is to be ported to a console, then you MUST purchase Arma 2: OA and Arma 2 to play the standalone, as many of us had to do on the PC version.

1) it would be unfair on PC users if consoles got it cheaper.

2) more income for BIS = more badass games in the future

3) I dislike consoles. (Not a valid point, just my opinion xD)

Choosing Console over PC because "PC costs more money" is just plain stupid

Gaming PC Dont necessarily Cost any more than consoles do.. just watch this video

In a long run, You will spend more money on console Because new games cost 60€/each!

lets say you buy 4-5Games/Year.. That's 240-300€/year just for games!! Wich is enough to buy new processor/Grafics card every year (wich is completely unnecessary unless you want Highest GFX with Highest resolution @100+ FPS no matter what)

If you add up all the money you spend on console games you would have a good computer...PC games cost a lot less. You save on the hardware side, you spend double on the software and perimeter side.

But... You don't have to purchase ArmA 2 or Arrowhead to play the standalone. o.O

I doubt consoles have enough power to run it, even an extremely raped version.

if xbox can play farcry 3 and hitman absolution and bo2 tranzit

it can play dayz

BF3 is perfect example what happens when PC game goes Multiplatform.

Game that has ton of potential becomes so limited & failure in so many ways only because consoles are anchoring the development

(Not saying BF3 was bad game, but its a fact that it would be MUCH better if it was PC only)

I remember there was talk of ARMA II coming to PS3 and 360, but then it was canceled. Was gutted at the time because I didn't have a good PC/ Laptop but now I don't really care as my laptop's pretty amazing :D

I'm not sure if it will work, but it will be worse and have less controls than the PC version, that's for sure.

Actually guys, Bohemia Interactive actually made a console version of one of their early games, Operation Flashpoint: Elite for Xbox and it was quite well off. Controls were flawless and seems to act the same as ArMA 2.

It could be possible. Along with that, Rocket has mentioned that over a million sales for the DayZ: Standalone, it could be likely that we'd see it. They had also stated it would be "Stupid" If they didn't make a console port. Likely we'd see it in the PS Store and Xbox Arcade. These consoles right now are modern. ArMA 2 was released in 2008 while consoles were in 2005 or 2006 which gives them a 2-3 year difference. I'm sure it could run Arma just fine guys. :)

DayZ: Standalone is going to be optimized for better performance by trimming animations and removing some coding that isn't necessary along with a new engine of ArMA 2.5. Game will be suitable for consoles.

Also shouldn't the next generation consoles like the ps4 and 720 be coming out around that time?

It runs those games on lower settings.

Far Cry 2 looks better at it's highest settings than Far Cry 3 looks on consoles.

You guys don't seem to understand the hardware and limitations a console has.

lol?

Like seriously my toaster runs games better then my ps3. I had to put up with that piece of garbage for 3 years. The limitations are unbelievable. Id shit bricks if rocket decides to go for that. (no offense to ps3 users, im one of them)
