New Vehicle Suggestions

Recommended Posts

This is something that always kind of bugged me about the mod. There are 4 fire stations in Chenarus, but no fire trucks. Why is that? I've been in plenty of servers where there are a number of people who's sole purpose seems to be helping people. I think that they should have their own type of vehicle. Besides, the infrastructure is already in game.

I know that there is no model for a "fire truck", but it wouldn't be hard to kit-bash one together. Many common Russian-style fire engines are based off of trucks like the Ural 4320 (the Ural in game), and the Zil-131. This means that you could re-paint the Ural, give it a slightly different body, and add the light that is already in game on top of the police car. Boom. Fire Truck.

The end result could be something that looks like this. Doesn't take away from the immersion of the game, doesn't add a "God Vehicle", should't be too hard to make. It would just be a new mode of transportation that is a little unique.

Actually this could play in really well with transporting water to player bases. Police cars, civilian ambulances as well as Military ones would fit in with this as well.

That's kind of what I was thinking. Many of the vehicles in game could be fairly easily converted as well. The Ural is the basis for a number of fire trucks, the S1203 is a basis for ambulances, and there is already a police car in ARMA. You could easily add multiple liveries for each vehicle.

Good idea. I'd suggest having the fire truck handle differently depending on whether or not the water tank is full. If it's full, the truck should have worse acceleration, worse performance up inclines, and an increased likelihood of flipping over when driving along the side of a slope or taking a sharp turn. If it's empty then it should handle comparatively better.

I dunno, I might be delving too much into details, but it's just an idea.
