  1. 1. Any upsides?

    • Yeah, of course, plenty! No one will play DayZmod.
    • No, DayZmod will be much more simple and won't be as complicated as the SA.
    • Maybe, I don't know, it's different.
    • Yeah, but DayZmod will still be somewhat fun.

Which I assume to mean once the standalone is out, not ones.

but then the questions are the opposite of the above statement?

I'm not a fan of R4Z0R49's direction with the DayZ mod, so I probably won't be using the dayzmod unless he really pulls something cool out.

I have to say I believe that R4ZOR49 is putting DayZmod in the direction where Standalone will go also and I hope that Standalone will be hardcore as fuck.

I think that I'll enjoy mod also because I love Namalsk.

Gonna be honest and say: I'm only gonna play Standalone once it's out.

Aside from occasionally checking out new maps, I doubt I will continue playing the mod.

EXACTLY..

i think it will be boredom of Chernarus that makes me play the MOD after SA ships..

i strongly beleive addon map support for SA will be radicaly curtailed vs. what we se in the dayZ mod..

hope im wrong thou. i really really dont even wanna return to Chernarus in SA, its soooo played out...

Hard to say with so little information but I do enjoy the variety of the mod right now. If I want to go hardcore survivalist I have servers and additional DayZ mods that provide that option or if I want to go the easy gear/vehicle route there are plenty of servers that provide that opportunity. Loving Taviania as well so I see some positives in playing the mod even when the standalone comes out, but I will easily admit that the standalone will consume most of my gaming time upon release so the mod will hit the back burner for at least a couple of months. After that it is a matter of how fast content is coming out for the standalone, if it gets stagnant I might just return to the mod to mess around on the different maps as I await more features to roll out in the standalone.

It all really depends on SA's quality. If the game is shit hot then the mod will be more a nostalgia game.

True..

But the SA will most definetly be as good if not WAY better than the mod

Day Z SA wont support private hives from the off. Chances are it will only launch with official servers too. Finally and more importantly, there will only be ONE map for stand alone.

While only Chernarus+ will be available at release, Rocket has expressed much interest at doing a EVE style server and map transition. In EVE when you go different areas or galaxies you load into a different server but you don't notice any change. EVE also has a whole server dedicated to chat. But to do it really like EVE where everyone plays on one server he would need to add many maps.

I agree, I was conisdering voting on this poll until I realized it made hardly any sense. Once SA is out there is really no reason to play the mod. Custom servers are out of control with infinite vehicles and weapon loadouts on spawn. I'd like to spend some time in dayz 2017 but within an hour I encountered "thunderdome" (which I hate to say because its 2 men enter 1 man leaves, god damn idiots out there) AND a flying tank. so yea...

I know so many people dislike chernarus but I don't understand how, its a large map and once we CAN enter all buildings PLUS all the new buildings it will make the map so much more colourful. I think most people dislike chernarus because they favor the smaller maps for fast-action PVP, which is fine, but not what this game should be all about.

Of course the majority of people will get SA leaving the script kiddies behind which only means a larger concentration of those players on a server.
