pr3llox 63 Posted January 14, 2013 (edited) Just a quick question...how many of you players out there have small problems playing dayz regarding of being a Ati graphic card user?problems like small lag sometimes, micro stuttering, fps dropping etc.?And will this be fixed in the standalone for better performance when using Ati graphic cards? Fraggle (DayZ) 15720 Posted January 14, 2013 (edited) I use an ATI HD5700 and have never had any of the above issues. The SA will be generally better optimised all round though, the Arma engine that DayZ is running off is pretty old now and was never very well optimised to start with.Edit - I did have micro-stuttering issues once but it was an overheating problem, not a GFX one, I used compressed air to clean out the inside of my rig and it sorted the issue. pr3llox 63 Posted January 14, 2013 (edited) Well i have played dayz since july with massive micro-stuttering so I doubt i got overheating issues like you hadI use a Ati HD 5870 graphics cardIts just that... hum sorry for my language.. its just that i am so fucking worried about the standalone causing the same micro-stuttering to my gameplay as the dayz mod does. Fraggle (DayZ) 15720 Posted January 14, 2013 TBH, I think you should be ok, even better off maybe with the SA due to the better optimisation.
St. Jimmy 1631 Posted January 14, 2013 (edited) I have HD4870 and I got a lot micro-stuttering but it got fixed when I tweaked these in the ArmA2OA.cfg file:GPU_MaxFramesAhead=1;GPU_DetectedFramesAhead=0;You can find it in C:\Users\username\Documents\ArmA 2Before that it was awful to play the game if fps wasn't 40 or so. Now even 20 fps is playable./Try different values if those doesn't work for you. Edited January 14, 2013 by St. Jimmy
Michaelvoodoo25 3120 Posted January 14, 2013 I have had Ati cards for years never had an issue with them. Not many people go as far to strip down GPU's or P.C's but it is worth it when you start hearing noises from your chasis. this can save you money in the long run. and It is good to clean out once in a while.
