Np - Playing at night is hard but it can be the most fun you can have if you stick with it. If you find flares then use them. Just litter the area you're looting with them, get in and get out quickly. It's risky because other players can see the flares but if you're quick and efficient it's better than stumbling around in the dark. Chemlights are more subtle and work well too.

FUNFACT: DayZ also has a real lunar-cycle. If you hapen to be a sailor and know how to read the stars you can use them to navigate. I've only ever met one person that was able to do this in my whole time playing, it was pretty cool though.

Just a slight correction: 1 hour ingame = 1 European hour. I believe that's equal to 57 Brazilian minutes.

Also you don't legally have to be a sailor to find Polaris in the night sky.

ArmA has had an ingame calendar, ingame clock, ingame day/night cycle, ingame lunar calendar and ingame rotating star map since Operation Flashpoint. You can see the great dipper, which you can use to find Polaris(the North Star). You can also locate Orin, The Twins, Cassiopeia the floating W and probably other constalations.

Fraggle is a fan of discharged sea-men in his naval base. He like's sailors of all kinds.

Yes, the ability to navigate by the stars has been in game since the start.

I would like to see shadows on ones analogue watch face so one can locate north.

Rgds

LoK

Ps i edited your topic to be a little more helpful.

As we already have a non-static moving sun, ingame time cycle, you already can. :)

The easy way to find the north star is to find the plough/ursa major/big dipper, the rim of the "saucepan" points to the north star.
