Hello guys! I have been playing dayz for quite awhile (About 60-70 HRs... Not too much)

And i have thought of something. How about to make the windows in vehicles, a little bit... Usefull?

How about to make a system that allaws you to Lower your windows. And to make them rise. Making them dissapear and re-Appear Visualy. Could be an easy way of demonstrating it. Or even animating them in the Stand Alone.

-Benefits of having the windows up:

Well... It will make the chatting inside. Heard only to people who are inside the vehicle. While outside nothing but the engine is heard.

And they can give a little bit of protection.

-Benefits of lowering the windows:

People around the vehicle can hear you. Can be used to speak with someone outside of your car. To nagotiate. To set course with a team mate. All of that could be pretty usefull. And. Incase of a gunfight. Windows won't be broken. Dragging the player into industrial buildings after some glass.

This might be easy to do, I'm not very familiar with arma scripting but if you are talking in direct on a motorcycle its easier to hear then if talking in a skoda, but usually when I'm wastlanding I cannot hear the person over the engine noise either way.

This seems like a cool idea that could add some immersion, realism, and fun. However, I don't think it, as a feature, contributes enough to the experience the DayZ team is aiming to develop for them to take resources off of, say, zombie pathing, to make windows roll up and down.

But to contribute to your suggestion, maybe when windows are down zombies can attack you.

This is something I'd like to see, but Id rather Rocket and the boys focus first on mastering the inventory and zombie encounters and such.

Lowering your windows can get useful if they introduce the option to fire a pistol from the passenger/driver seat.

If they add an option to fire out of your vehicle and windows are up. You will brake the window. And rolling it down will prevent from so. Could be a little touch to realisem. Its the little detail that can make a diffrance.
