Hi all,

I just found out of this game which i think is awesome and are hitting my head because I only found this out know. My question is.. Are people still playing this? Because I'm considering buying arma II and arrowhead just for dayz since the standalone has been delayed for an unknown time.

So are there still full servers and clans who are recruiting? Much appreciated.

No. Nobody is still playing this. Game is pretty outdated. Hasn't been an update in forever.

Yes there are still plenty of players and plenty of servers to choose from. The standalone doesn't look like it will be out for another month or 2 atleast, so you're left with whether or not you can afford to buy both games within the next few months or not. If not, wait for the standalone. If the answer is yes, then go for it, ArmA 2 is a great game and you can still play it after DayZ moves on.

Dont listen to this guy he's been sarcastic and yes lots play you can achely check yourself just download day z commander but you could wait till day z standalone since its been announced that this mod is gone be an official game which gamer's all around are begging for

While we're at it.. What are the downsides of this game. Like bugs or cheaters. Are there many times you find yourself swearing because of that?

Get yourself on a whitelisted private hive if you want to avoid hackers as there's a much greater chance of avoiding them!

There's quite a few bugs that make you want to tear your hair out but persevere, the nature of the mod can't change this but hopefully standalone will address these but it's still worth buying Arma's for the mod regardless!

Filled with bugs and glitches that will make most people rage and/or quit the mod entirely.

For example;

- If a door bumps you while opening, it will most likely break your legs and/or kill you.

- Walking over rocks sometimes does the same.

- Trying to drive over a bridge with an ATV results into a backflip and possibly your death if it stays upside down.

- Break your legs and/or get knocked unconscious for 1-5 minutes for falling half a meter.

- Random deaths

Hackers are also very common. They can..

- Spawn weapons for themselves/others.

- Spawn vehicles.

- Break everyone's legs.

- Teleport everyone or themselves anywhere. (Including mid-air which kills you.)

- Turn invisible.

- Become invincible.

- Take control of your character.

- Play a video on your screen.

- List goes on.. Are you scared yet?

Your best bet is to wait for the Standalone, which should be coming out in 1-2 months.

Almost every problem we currently have with the mod will be fixed with the standalone release, but it still won't be a finished game. DayZ is currently in Alpha, and is only a mod. It will also be released on Steam in Alpha, when the standalone comes out.
