Trout (DayZ)

Can't connect after a few months off

Recommended Posts

Hello all. I took a break from Dayz for a few months recently and am trying to get back into the game. One of my old medic friends told me to use DayZ Commander.

I used Commander to update all the various files and they all say "current version". I have it set to DayZ only servers and no other mods. But every time I connect I get a "server rejected error. Wrong version" and it drops me to the main Arma screen. One time I did connect but I was a bird.

I'm hoping there is an easy fix that I'm just not aware of or someone knows off the top of their head what I did wrong.

Thanks.

First off, beans for the ol' 4077th. :beans: My favorite tv show of all time.

Try checking the boxes in Commander that say "hide wrong versions"... you might be trying to connect to servers running older versions of the mod or Arma beta etc.

If the name is greyed out and not lit up it means that you can't join it. If you say DayZ only, that means you are filtering for the Chernarus map. No matter what it will only show DayZ servers, so if you want to check out the other maps turn that setting off.

Thanks for the quick replies guys! I suspect it may be a setting somewhere in DZC that I don't have right. Wish I was at home to tinker with this and get it working. Wonder if my boss will believe me if I come down with a fever on Fri afternoon?

Any other ideas? When I get home I can look at your suggestions will I have DZC open.

Thanks again.
