I can see why someone would dislike TWD, some of the acting is horrible.

Personally, I enjoy the plot and like a few of the characters though.

OP I completely get what you are saying, I had hand surgery a week ago and unable to play video games and re-watched the entire series while off work and all it made me want to do was play DayZ even worse. Got so bad I fired it up and was defenseless against any human threat but had a grand time running over zombies and pretending I was actually friendly.

Seconded. The TV show is okay, but I always preferred the comics. I just don't like a lot of the changes the show made or the portrayal of a lot of the characters.

Walking dead held my interest for a few episodes, and you cant deny Andrew Lincolns acting in it. Yet it held no real suspense and became this contrived mess of ego characters you couldn't care less about, making poor and frankly unbelievable decisions. Building characters and killing them off, it became like a soap opera in fast forward. 7/10

Its way to inconsistent to be conisdered a good show. Entertaining yes...but so fucking inconsistent...my goodness.

Season 1. Start with realism (but too much slow mo) -> End with Artifical intellegence and self destruct systems that make Stargate seem legit.

Season 2. Start with realism -> Bore everyone to death-> lame and laugauble sequences like Zombie in a well and car flipping ->make up for it with a red-shirt slaughterfest

Season 3. Start with realism-> End with magical tree jumping ninjas, counterstrike and thunderdomes

Should we talk about Lori and her replacement Andrea? About T-Dog and fate of all the black characters...I laughed so bitterly when the group recalled fond memories of TDogs heroism. Probally the most clumsy moment of television I've seen for along time. That and other chessiness.

Then you have intense scenes, some decent drama (juxtaposed aginast frequently shit acting) and we are left with...?

A slightly bad taste that I come back for because it is the only show with zombies in it until Game of Thrones season 3...battle of Fist of the First Men will probally eclipise all that Walking Dead has done so far. That and The Unsullied...

Do you intend on qualifying this? I'm not sure what's tripping you up. You don't think the massive popularity of the zombie genre now has influenced these games? I am a huge zombie flick fan. I can tell you straight up that anyone I work with (Fire Dept./ Paramedic) knew squat about zombies prior to this tv show. Many of them are big fans now.

I think that zombies were incredibly popular well before the walking dead comics were written. I think that dayz would have happened regardless. I think that inferring that a zombie tv show, that admittedly did very well, is directly responsible for the allowing the inception of DayZ is just pure conjecture, and wrong at that.

There have been zombie books/films/etc/etc/etc forever. Saying that because the people you worked with knew very little about zombies before Walking Dead is proof that the Walking Dead brought it to the masses is pure fallacy.
