MindSweeper 0 Posted January 7, 2013 Hi there, I started playing DayZ yesterday, but I know it from some time now, and I know that on official servers you can change server wen you want and you character will transfer everything you have to the server you just changed, and you don't lose a thing.What about unofficial servers? Cause some friends of mine got a server but it's not a Hive server, so as long as I play there I'll get my stuff back wen ever I relog.But can I, for example, go to an official server and start a new character, and then come back to my friends server? I'm afraid of doing that and deleting my char on the unofficial one and lose they gear that they gave me to start. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Brittanica 26 Posted January 7, 2013 You can join a public hive and start playing with a new char, which will only be saved on public hive servers.If you join a NEW private hive and start a char, that one will be saved ONLY on that particular private hive server.Basicly you can play on every other server out there without changing, editting, deleting anything on your current character on your friends server. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
person915 345 Posted January 7, 2013 There is something you must understand: Private Hives and Public Hives are in NO WAY connected. Therefore, your character can not be deleted by going to an official server, then going to a private one, vice-versa. You can only have 1 character on official servers per CD ID, but you can have more characters on other private hives, though for EACH private hive you can only had one. Say you played on US 445, a public hive, and had a character. You could also go on 2 other private hives and have a character on each one, and not have to worry.
