Panzer VI 2 Posted January 6, 2013 (edited) Okay, so I was thinking about buying Arma 2 and OA to install DayZ. But, I hear that on Windows 7, Arma 2 tends to lag alotI have an alienware m14xr2 with the following specs:Intel Core i5 3210CPU 2.5ghz8GB of Ram64 bit windows 72gigs of graphicsNow my question is, will my PC have CONSTANT 60+FPS on Medium or High graphics (WHILE npcs and other players arearound me) OR am I better off just getting free arma 2 for the lower textures and just buy OA?Thanks :)EDIT: Also is it worth it getting the better textures? M_i_k_e 3 Posted January 6, 2013 (edited) Where did you hear it lags on windows 7 ? It really doesn't.To answer your question, we'd need to know the model of your GPU. Edited January 6, 2013 by M_i_k_e

Candylol 82 Posted January 6, 2013 (edited) I have Intel® HD graphics 4000and it's also displaying I have NVIDIA Ge Force GT 650Mit will run and btw go to the nearest games store out into the '' (real world) '' and buy arma2 combined operations both in the same cover and it's cheap around $40 but if you don't like getting your butt out of the chair go to steam and buy it there lazy farts. Alien ware is the best brand of gaming computer so no problem with lag or anything and windows 7 doesn't lag only fucking!!! windows 8 does, I have one can't even go in a server it's that fucking stupid, the software isn't really design for gaming only entertainment like music, videos and ect. so no problems with anything the specs look find. So now you are almost ready to roll so go now HURRY!!!!!!!!!!! to the nearest game store before they run out. :) Edited January 6, 2013 by Candylol
Siegfried 20 Posted January 6, 2013 That should be good enough for medium, but it's kinda hard to say since it varies from system to system, you could try the free version of Arma 2, but the zombies in dayz do impact performance too.

boneboys 7988 Posted January 6, 2013 (edited) Game does not lag because of W7.Constant 60 fps,,,, highly unlikely.Make sure yoy have selected the Nvidia option when running the game (I've seen this before, so check it).Yes, it is worth getting the full game for the textures (+ BAF dlc for the full textures available). This Topic is rather about can I run it, so I will answer by saying yes !There is a Topic for this sort of thing, in fact there is a Topic for most questions.http://dayzmod.com/f...un-it-ask-here/This is worth going through...there is quite a good graphic Guide.http://dayzmod.com/f...elpful-threads/The game is going for 50 % reduction for a few more hours €12.49 thats as cheap as you will be able to get it..Good luck.EDIT : Do not Bump on these Forums, (I can see 4x) you will recieve a warning. I have only had one issue on Win 8 but that has since been resolved and it had nothing to do with ARMA II or DayZ. If anything, I get a few extra frames in Win 8 that I didnt have in 7. Panzer VI 2 Posted January 6, 2013 What is this? Could you explain please? I have an nVidia GPU and would like to increase my FPS.... :DGo down to the bottom right hand corner of your windows 7 machine (im assuming you have W7)Selec the little arrow, then select NVDIA Settingsgo to the global tab, and click on the little arrow and change it from INTEL to NVDIA for your settings.Did it last night and I notice World of Tanks went from 40fps-105fps on Mininmum, so now I can play inbetween high and ultra and still get 40-60fps
U.G.N - Jedi Panda 1319 Posted January 6, 2013 wow fair play, thanks!I guess it defaults to Intel as standard?
boneboys 7988 Posted January 6, 2013 What is this? Could you explain please? I have an nVidia GPU and would like to increase my FPS.... :DMy mate has a i5 3210 (I believe) he was getting poor fps, the game was in fact running on the intergrated (cpu) graphics processor.I told him to deactivate the graphic option on the processor but this gives him other problems. He has to select the Nv chip when running the game. This was done over skype, so I'm not to sure of the exact details but he has improved his fps x3.Might help, might not.
