How to play ARMA 2 OA without messing up Dayz installation?

Hi,

when I start Arma II OA, the "single player" option is grey, and I can't click on it. I don't want to destroy or corrupt my Dayz game, and I don't know for sure how to play ARMA 2 OA.

just disable dayz in expansions and re enable it when you wanna play it will do no harm

You could always go to your ARMA 2: OA installation folder and use the .exe there to launch the game directly. Oddly enough that doesn't start the DayZ mod nor any expansions, so you can play the vanilla game without doing anything else.
