I need help starting the mod. I downloaded Arma II and the expansion pack for it and then I downloaded dayzcommander and I clicked on some threads to try and start playing but it won't let me load the game. It keeps coming up with a message that says: "bad serial number given in setup" What do I do?!?

You need to go into your Steam Library and play both ARMA II and ARMA II: Operation Arrowhead at least once. You just have to load up to the main menu.

run steam as admin and do what rage said

Something is wrong with it. it says Operation Arrowhead has a bad serial number too. Maybe the one I bought and downloaded is broken or something?

close steam

start steam in admin (right click and run as administrator)

right click on arma2 and properties then local files

click on verify integrity of game cache <-- do it twice

and do the same for arma2 oa

run arma2 to the menu

run arma2 oa to the menu

job done

If that don't work... try to restart. Windows can be a whore at adding registrys sometimes.
