Should I start playing?

I was wondering everyone's input on if I should buy Arma 2 and play DayZ or should I wait a little while and play the Stand Alone when it comes out?

arma 2 itself is a great game esp for £15 worth it just for arma and the other mods that are around

The campaing with a friend it is just amaizing,we just got to the second mission. It was worth it.

SO, I bought and tried playing DayZ but the two servers I played on kicked me due to being a noob.

Is this what I have to expect from all the servers? Has everyone become so accustomed to playing that they frown upon nubs and have no patience to help them?

Not all servers are like that. Try playing on our private hive, check the links in my description.

You're more than welcome to bring your friends too. If you're interested i will PM you the server password.

If you ask someone to help you and they are not busy, they normally do.

Its worth just buying it. I bought it (Arma II) mainly for DayZ but think about it, I have played other mods having a go at like Takistan Life and Wasteland (And Arma II). These mods are pretty fun themselves. When standalone comes out you wont be playing Arma II for dayz anymore so these other mods will make you return to the game making it highly worth it regardless.

I can assure you Catalyst, that if any admins did teleport to you, it would have been to replace things for you lost in a hacker attack. There have never been admins that teleport to player for any other reason than that. I personally would not allow it. On a second not, i know that the only admin in my clan capable of that is Kind-Sir, and anyone who is anyone knows that he is a legitimate player, and only does good deeds for people in the servers Vendetta runs.

Get ARMA 2 now whilst you can, i originally bought it for DayZ and loved it. Then i played all the singleplayer campaigns of ARMA 2, put a good 60 hours into that. I also play on the multiplayer servers, especially wasteland ones, i've put in over 400 hours on that alone. So yes, get the game whilst you can, it has a massive amount of content and you will never find yourself bored whilst you have it there
