Zombie animations, stand alone?

Recommended Posts

Just curious, in the stand alone, are zombie movements going to be smoothed out instead of the weird sketchy sprinting movements?

I don't mind that they are fast adds suspense (hopefully there are some slow + some fast) but the way they turn sharply has been a problem since like alpha or whatever of this game =/

Day Z zombies are based off ARMA AI which has coding designed to have enemy troops try to flank you, which is why they do the spazoid animations. Various other issues with them, the delayed death events etc...

It has been mentioned it is being addressed in a few game conventions by rocket.

If ragdoll gets implemented, I think they wouldn't use a constant animation, they'll just do something with the ragdoll functions. This could be a solution for making custom animations.
