My Trip to the airfield

Well, since I started playing this mod, I have heard a lot of talk about the airfield.

A group of 8 of us met up in the woods outside cherno to begin our journey to the airfield. 5 min in, a glitch happens and everyone is teleported to the middle of cherno, we log out and back into the server, 4 of us are out in the woods before the glitch, the rest are spawning in the middle of cherno and dying : \. Eventually after what seems like 2hrs of running through the middle of the woods, we reach the airfield, we find a guy walking, I shoot him, then all of us killed mowed down instantly from the treeline.

So, is there a faster way to get to the airfield? just seems like a giant waste of time, we shall just camp cherno and kill everything that moves until vehics are more common I guess

it takes 20-30 minutes to get to NW airfield and it spawns best items in barracks.

Best items in the game ONLY spawn in NW airfield at the moment. Its a bit lame that way, and lots of people dislike it although some do like it that way too, ill leave you to make your own mind up.

The teleporting and stuff sounds very dodgy, there have been reports of hacking causing such issues. and the issues have become more common as this wonderful mod gains another 1000 players everyday.

If you get teleported a long distance best thing to do is probably ALT f4 right now.

I am indifferent on the spawning of weapons there I suppose, Although I just feel the map is just so large, it takes long enough to just group up with friends, then the run to the northern part of the map is so long and boring that it is just not worth it to me at this point to even bother.

I look at it as a road trip, fun while it lasted, but wont be visiting the place again for a long time!

If you get to the quadrant north west of NWAF there's actually a miniature village populated by zombie dwarfs. It's even based off the topographical map of the same village in China. Weird little easter egg for the devs to include, but worth a visit nonetheless.

EDIT: I went there, he's totally right. You have to flare it up a bit though, throw a few flares in the air. Incredible!

I totally lolled when I found that place. You should be able to step on them to kill them rather than having to shoot them! :D

Mind you some of the barns there spawn REALLY rare weapons a lot of the time.

It's not that the NW Airfield spawns better items, it just spawns more items from the 'military pool'.

The other airfields, base at star sober, and deer stands all pull from this same 'military pool'. It's just that there are fewer 'spawn nodes' for the loot to appear in.

it spawns "better items" cause its the only location with military barracks. 2 of them.

the only place to get M4A1_AIM_SD_camo for example.

No disrespect intended, but you should listen to your own words. The loot sheet, and the ingame code, explain to us that the best weapons can ONLY be found in the barracks, which can only be located on the north western airfield.

Simply check the loot sheet. Barracks spawns all the godlike items. And it has been like that for quite a while.

Actually, there's a barracks just south of Balota airfield. It hasn't been on the map though for some reason.

EDIT: I'm wrong. Different kind of barracks. My mistake.
