Graphics Guide for Noobs (Request)

Recommended Posts

Ok, this is just an idea that came into my mind before. Whilst viewing the Thread "Can I Run It?" i noticed alot of people said can i run it on max/medium/low and so on. But apart from youtube i dont really know what the difference is. The majority of people i watch have it on high because they have proper gaming pcs. This is kinda of a bumber as i havent got mine yet and i plan to which makes my decisions a lot hard so i have a strict budget.

This is just a request for someone to make a video the shows the different graphics settings on low to ultra. Maybe even detailing some tips to increase FPS and so on. I know there is a guide with some of this on the forums, but a visual representation of this makes life alot easier. This kind of guide would be good since these are the offical forums for Dayz and can possibly make it an Offical guide to graphics settings and so people get an idea of what they can and cant run. If this is possible, we would need someone who has MAXED their computer out to run it smoothly to get the right settings and so forth. The person who is recording might even be able to list a build that would run at the different settings.

Link for an example:

Just look at the really big post quote from HooWoo.

(If there has already been a video on this could someone post the link so I and other forum members can see it)

Thanks

Yeah, pictures help but we need a proper idea of how it runs at those settings in different areas, pictures are a capture of the moment, not a recording, but they will help.

Well my html is not great so ill just chuck them on photo bucket,

http://s1298.beta.ph...html?sort=3&o=1

http://s1298.beta.ph...html?sort=3&o=2

Not sure how helpful these are but they are decent screenshots, might chuck them in Photoshop later and have barney and godzilla fight with a few burning building's in the background

also for video's try the arma 2 benchmarks.

Stare at the ground in every area you wish to have a consistent, high quality framerate. Behold as you gain massive amounts of FPS by trying out this cool hack.

Warning: Exiting the state of ground stare may cause one to lose a massive amount of FPS; extreme, explosive, anal eruptions; graphics card cancer; and sore disappointment as you realize that you've just been had.

What are you asking for, a Video of different graphic settings ?

That would not be an easy thing to accomplish given compression restrictions and internet transfers combined.

Did you take the time to read the Stickies ?

There is a very good guide which explains in detail the different manipulations that can be made.
