troteK 1 Posted January 2, 2013 (edited) I have a question. Is it possible to get global banned if I cheat/script (via cheatengine or 3rd party tools) in SINGLEPLAYER(Arma 2 OA) ?I just wanna test/have fun at singleplayer and try stuff around with cheatengine, but I don't want to cheat on multiplayer.(It would destroy the game with other players, sad !) Well someone told me that he got banned while he was messingaround with a 3rd party tool in singleplayer, but I really can't believe that. Does someone know a answer ?(He told me now that he joked, he was banned before.)Please just answer if you are 100% !!! Sure. Thank you very much :)troteKPs. It is really important that you understand that this question is ONLY related to SINGLEPLAYER(Arma 2 OA) and nothing else. Testwd3r235 2810 Posted January 2, 2013 If battleye is on you can be banned, although I don't know if battleye is on during singleplayer. (It should come up with a message saying if it is)
falcon2500 14 Posted January 2, 2013 yes you can get banned my friend got banned this way ( but I suspect he may have tried to cheat on multiplayer so.. ye) Armory on arma 2 is a very good way to pratice shooting, and stuff. and if you don't want to go on armory just play DayZ on an empty server. troteK 1 Posted January 2, 2013 I can't believe that Battleeye goes "online" if I play singleplayer.I mean is that even allowed ? NEVER heard about getting banned from singleplayer. that would be very ridiculous.

troteK 1 Posted January 2, 2013 (edited) @MacabreLlama99The thing with my friend is that he used a tool from the internet and everybody knows that most of them steal your GameKey and replace it with a banned one.And he told me that he couldn't even start Arma 2 anymore, he was banned out of the game TOTALLY. Sounds ridiculous. What do you think ?(He told me now that he joked, he was banned before.) Edited January 2, 2013 by troteK
rekrul 91 Posted January 2, 2013 (edited) Nope. BE is the one that will ban you and it isn't enabled during SP. Be careful though, if you have certain cheats running in the background and forget to terminate them and go online (MP), you'll be banned.Edit: Your friend had his key stolen and the virus either replaced the cd-key with a banned one or a scripter got his key banned. That will not affect SP, editor, armory, etc. Your friend must reinstall the game. Edited January 2, 2013 by Rakrul

nik21 287 Posted January 2, 2013 BE is only active on BE enabled Servers obviously...HOWEVER you shouldn't leave anything like CE open when going on a BE enabled server... Just to be safe, I'd advise you to close all Cheat-related things and restart the game before joining a BE server.

Mr Nasty 1023 Posted January 2, 2013 So how long until we see troteK posting in the ban appeal section? My guess is 3 days.

OrLoK 16188 Posted January 2, 2013 Hello thereMy advice would be NOT to cheat or use any cheat tools, rather use any of the many mods which allow you to spawn vehicles etc. Check the BiS Forums or Armaholic.RgdsLoK
