kwairt 0 Posted January 1, 2013 Ok so I've put in around 40-60 hours and have learned how to survive and what buildings etc to look for said items. I've used tents to make supply stashes and wandered around like sam fisher looking for friends. Now what though? I don't know anyone playing the game and hooking up with other people in Day Z seems almost impossible and for the most part pointless if I'm able to survive on my own.I'm bored of hiking all over the map to find no vehicles or going back and forth between towns to try and get some decent spawns (server switching is lame). So i've put in my time and lived to tell about it. I have some decent weapons and what not but I just don't feel like murdering people. I've never murdered anyone. I've just learned to live alone and survive. However now what?To be honest I'm sick of eating 6 or more times a day thats not very realistic at all. I'm tired of doing runs into town to store stuff only to have it stolen while I'm out looking for the next batch of supplies. Occasionally a fence or door breaks my bones so I have to go back to a hospital to get some supplies. Or eat alot of steaks and canned food to get my blood up.However now I'm totually bored. I figured I would try and get a vehicle and park it and fuel it etc but those are few and far between and usually never on their spawn locations. I find myself loading Black Ops 2 again just to get my shooter fix or playing Chivalry to get some fun out of the time spent.I dunno maybe I'm doing something wrong in DayZ but it has gotten to the point of where I ask myself why am I even bothering to survive or get supplies when I can just respawn and grab more and live for the moment. Surviving seems boring if anything. Ive gone to great lengths to hide my camps which also seem to get raided in the middle of nowhere.Anyone have any advice? usmcadriancayabyab@gmail.com 19 Posted January 1, 2013 My best adventures have always been the 'Unseen Guardian' Ones. Just about every time I play I always Manage to find some person or group traveling and getting themselves into a tight spotAlthough... It is a bit stalkerish. I follow them throughout their travels and Snipe away zombies. They never see me, Never communicate with me. But it allows me to be a savior without risking myself. More often then not, you think about how you were running from zombies at one point and wish maybe someone came along and just mowed them down for you.Just something Different to Try.(Beware getting too close.... they tend to think you're aiming at them, and not the zombies. They usually figure it out once you start dropping all the Zed around them lol)
bigdogsco 143 Posted January 1, 2013 You have the survival part down it seems. If you have to go play cod for a shooter fix maybe you should become a bandit hunter?
Merrick362 (DayZ) 263 Posted January 1, 2013 (edited) If you're looking for a friendly group to play with, swing by www.dayrescue.com. The site is still under construction, but it's a solid group of guys that have been playing together for a while now. I just decided to start following them for fun. Then, two of the players ran back into the city alone. I know that I wasn't in big trouble because I could hear them talking through direct chat, so they wouldn't be able to communicate where or how they were killed to the others. So I positioned myself and sniped the two while they were looting the hospital (I believe they were getting a blood bag for their friend). The other guys heard the shots of my DMR so ran over. They were all freaking out in chat when I shot another one of them. At this point they were basically running away and I got one last chance to laugh in direct as they fucked everything and ran. It was quite funny because, even though they actually had excellent gear, they were extremely disorganized and were more freaking the fuck out than anything else.Luckily I'm not too much of a dick anymore ;) Edited January 1, 2013 by Excision
