jmurph 0 Posted December 29, 2012 Hey guys, been watching so many dayZ vid's on youtube I decided i'd get Arma2:CO and try it out myself. After 6 days of downloading i got it all installed and I keep getting kicked out by battleye for high ping. (650-850ms).So, I guess my question is if anyone knows of a server that accepts high-ping (such as myself playing via satnet from Afghanistan)Otherwise, there are a few other guys stationed on the same base as myself who have an interest as well, what's the easiest way for me to get a private server setup? (who should I e-mail?)Thanks for your help in advance.-Murphy
boneboys 7988 Posted December 29, 2012 Hi and welcome.I really don't know if the game would be playable with such a ping. You could try adjusting max/min ping in the settings in the in-game browser and see what happens.Good luck to you.
bigdogsco 143 Posted December 29, 2012 Hey fella. Thanks for your service! This game is pretty heavy on your connection. I know you don't get such good service out there, and sattelite connections are always gonna add an unavoidable time lag that hits your ping time hard. I don't think trying a geographically closer server will help you cos you still have to go up and down into space both ways but its worth a try. Maybe there's a server in Pakistan or India you could try connecting to? I can't find any in gametracker but that doesn't mean they aren't there. Maybe the community could help on that?Failing that, if you have enough guys interested and the right hardware yeah you could set up a LAN. There's a tutorial here http://www.tunngle.net/community/topic/77881-new-improved-dayz-private-server-installation-tutorial/If your at a big base like bastion maybe one of the army computer boys can sort you out with a spare server stack :)

I was able to find cheaper girls than internet when I was deployed.

jmurph 0 Posted January 1, 2013 Hey guys :) I'm just north of Bastion / Kandahar, i'm here as a contractor flying UAVs w/ the Army guys, pretty great gig. I'll look into setting up a LAN server, maybe them S6 guys will want to play and I can snag a server from them. It's Afghanistan, we have ways of making things work our way out here. haha.
