HenryWing 1 Posted December 28, 2012 (edited) Visuals go an extremely long way in a video game, but in a game like DayZ it;s the little things that add to immersion and really pull the player into the game and make it the best possible experience it can be for the player. For example, being able to run while you reload your gun is a GREAT feature i wish more games would implement. Here is a couple things that I have noticed in the game that would really shine if things were changed, it would make players say " WOW, they really did pay attention to every detail" and myself being a long time hardcore PC gamer, PC gamers love things like this. Feel free to post your "little fixes" here, and I will constantly be updating this thread with the best ideas, and hopefully it can get some attention from Rocket.1. Disable the ability to "vault over" when there is nothing to vault over, I always press V by accident and wind up vaulting over the air, when zombies are chasing you, that can be a real problem.2. Save what camera position you are in upon re-logging. I log out in third person, and log back in, and im in first person again, i know its a simple press of the enter button, but things like this show that the Dev really does care about the experience the gamer is receiving.3. Change the tempature indicator, its a weird color, and a lot of the community doesnt seem to understand it.4. When you sprint with the hatchet, your right hand bends in a way that defies physics.5. Start in the "Direct Communication" chat channel by default instead of side chat, i've been kicked from multiple servers because in the heat of the moment i talk to a player in side chat by accident, instead of direct chat.6 (found by Deschain). The bridge along the coast of Solnichniy seems to flip you over if you try to cross it in a vehicle.I will be updating this thread even more as i play the game more and realize the problems as i come across them. Please do not flame on this thread, i personally believe it is a good idea to get the tiny things, (the ones that accidentally break your leg out of nowhere) out there and into the Devs minds to consider changing for the standalone release. Please feel free to add suggestions and comment on current ones. Sutinen 635 Posted December 28, 2012 (edited) There's probably nothing to fix in the first one, since that seems way too complex. Just don't press it at the wrong time. You might click your mouse and accidentally shoot your friend too, but that doesn't happen often, right?2 and 5 are completely useless. The hatchet thing will be fixed, because it's the only thing to actually "fix" here. The temperature icon will probably get changed as well. finkone 320 Posted December 28, 2012 My favorite is hitting both the B, and V key when you don't want either... Lol.

HenryWing 1 Posted December 29, 2012 I'm not saying that these are %100 NEEDED in the game, they would just be nice little features, my fingers aren't fat lol, Instead of bashing what i wrote and derailing the thread, how about you add suggestions of your own
Fraggle (DayZ) 15720 Posted December 29, 2012 Telling people they have fat fingers is against the forum rules.

Deschain (DayZ) 2 Posted December 29, 2012 I actually have a small glitch i can ad to you're thread:I've searched the forum to see if anyone else posted this and found nothing! There is a bridge in "Solnichniy" (to the east on the map on the Coast) that's bugged outa hell! When you drive over the north side connection to the road, no matter the speed, it flips the vehicle!I think its only when driving ATV's over it but i cant confirm that, and yes i know ATV's in it self are bugged and being taken care of ,so don't flame me on that either :PI am just saying there seems to be a discrepancy at the bridge, and if this isn't noticed now, it could well follow into the standalone!I will post what small things i notice in here i think! No reason to create new posts for every little bug :)

colekern 1364 Posted December 30, 2012 None of these are possible to fix in the mod. These will come in standalone.

Thank you - HenryFirst off, other games allow you to run and reload too. Just not sprint... How often do you sprint in ArmA while reloading anyways? (Considering the adverse effects running/sprinting has on your ability to aim and that springing pretty much doubles the rate of aim decline for a ~20% speed boost)1. Rebind your key, make it so you have to double tap V to vault over something. That eliminates accidental presses. In other words, they already have it fixed in the game and we really don't want the game to be any more messed up by not allowing you to vault over something just because you weren't in the right spot to vault over whatever object there might be.2. First off, third person camera should be disabled in DayZ. Even if it's enabled on the server i would never use it (for the sake of immersion) and the only use it has is to look around corners you shouldn't be able to or look over walls you can't possibly look over otherwise. So i like your suggestion if it forces you into first person camera and locks you there every time you restart... Noob!3. I have no problems understanding it, it blinks when there's an issue that needs addressing and it does notably change color prior to the event.4. Yes, the animations in DayZ (And ArmA in general) are not the best but if you are going to hang on these details then you clearly can't enjoy the game and are only here for the visuals. And DayZ is FAR from visuals oriented unlike other AAA (Triple arcade) titles.5. Allow the user to specify what default channel to start in, also allow server admins to disable voip on a per channel basis completely eliminating the issue in the first hand. In fact, disable side chat entirely and remove the "XYZ was killed" messages.6. Pretty much every single bridge in ArmA is broken in one way or another and Rocket has not control over this directly. Speak to BIS about this.
