Any Good UK Servers?

Recommended Posts

I need a good UK server to go on with plenty of people and I would prefer it to be public hive over private.

EDIT: I would like a day and night time cycle as well if possible.

We're running a UK based server (UK498) and try our best to keep it haxor free and a fun server to play on. To be fair, we've had quite some hassle with haxors lately, but most of them are banned :) :)

Our server is set to veteran settings and is running on US time (darkness falls @ 10pm GMT ish).

uk31 is an awesome server, it uses the STmovement mod and has increased vehicle count and added buildings. give it a try.

Yeah UK108 gets my vote, I play on it all the time, though you really shouldn't get attached to your gear as wankers usually turn up like flies to shite as soon as more than twenty are on the server, though the recent addition of Gotcha to the server has greatly improved the situation to how it was recently. Last night someone pretty much emptied the server with this [see image]. I told the others it was probably just bullshit and played on, but we went from around 48 players to 7.

What does 'plenty' mean? Wireworld UK has between 5-25 players, which means you've got some quiet times to gear-up, repair vehicles, and raid camps without too much threat (you still have to keep your guard up though), and some nice banditry and PvP when it's busier. Personally I think 30+ players on Chenerus just turns into a deathmatching cycle; I certainly prefer when player-encounters happen more unexpectedly and you have a chance to keep your camps and vehicles for a while. Maybe you're just looking for a quick-fire bloodfest though?

Personally I wouldn't even bother with the public hive. The game is so much better when you don't have to worry about hackers. Wireworld has been hacker free (we think) for many months. The only things you want to be assured about with a private hive is that the admin isn't abusive and that the server is not going to shut down any time soon. Well, Wireworld only has one Admin who is mature in age and behaviour, owns a gaming centre, and is friendly and active. The server was also pre-paid for a year and has at least six months to go.

The other benefit of Wireworld is that there isn't the shoot-on-sight mentality that you get on the public hive. Most players are in the TeamSpeak provided, and there is lots of informal teaming-up and co-operation every night. The players all get to know each other, and being part of a small community really adds an extra dimension to the game. Of course, you can play as a lonewolf too, whenever you wish.

Wireworld runs the very latest community beta patch. Follow the instructions in the above link - basically join the lobby and get kicked (this is so your player name and id is logged in the database), then email the address in the 'kick message' with your GUID, and finally download the latest beta (3 PBO files) from the link you're given. The details of the TS server are in the lobby message if you get stuck.

Thanks, ill be on Wireworld soon. I'll see you on it.
