Why on earth would anyone want to pay for a whitelist server when there are numerous other whitelisted servers with active admins charging nothing?

Just wanted to know, it would be me but I dont see a way how to know if a player is a hacker or not. And if you would let everyone in, why you take a whitelist

Many admins do background checks on players before letting them in, they just don't open the floodgates.

Many have to fill out applications with information so it's easier to find out information about prospective players.

Why would charging money mean that they wouldn't be a hacker?

It makes literally no sense, the only difference between a paid server and a normal server is the money - I'm sure they wouldn't mind wasting a few bucks if they already have their Arma II key on the line.

You should never charge to let people play but you can always accept voluntary donations. If you run a good server and build a good community then people may donate to say thankyou, but it should never be expected of them.

I put no for the first two because I'd rather not play on a whitelisted server, but i *have* to, if I want to guarantee an almost hackfree game.

No. This isn't another game with a similar name.

Donate? Fine. Pay to play. Never.

A curse on all admins who charge.

The reason I don't like whitelisting is it removes the random element of different players to a degree. Plus, it's a pain having to sign up and wait for approval.

Don't get me wrong, I recommend whitelisted servers but think of them as a necessary evil.

It would be nice if I could just hop online and dive straight in. I know, I'm a dreamer. Perhaps, I'm not the only one?

We do them all the time to Whitelist our servers and keep hackers out. It's time consuming but it means the servers pretty much run themselves if you out the effort in at the start.

We ask for Steam account addy's so we can check for VAC bans and and check other stuff too. It's super secret though and I don't want to make it too easy for them :)

Well with whitelisting you do you background checks, VAC ban checks...etc. It's easy.
