What's the best way to find friends?

Hey,

Just trying to see if anyone has tips on how to meet up with friends, we are both new to the game. Do we just aimlessly run around until we find each other? lol

OOOOOOOOOH Sorry I misunderstood your question. My apologies.

When you first log into the game it will tell you your current location on the map in the bottom right corner. IF you dont have an in game map you can -

Go to DayzDB.com and look at the map to find where you are. Have your friend do the same and you should be able to find out where each other are and plan routes to meet up.

Ask yourself the question as it would be the real life.

What you firstly do is establish a sort of communication line. Be it skype, teamspeak, the phone, msn, or even the ingame server chat.

Then you both try to locate your own location. Pay attention when you spawn. It will tell you the name of the closest city. If that didn't help, see if you can find streetsigns, unique landmarks such as big buildings, hills or valleys and most importantly streetpatterns.

If there is nothing particluar you can find, you can orientate yourself by the help of the sun and a watch, the big dipper/north star or the direction the clouds are floating (west to east). You can use google to find more details on these techniques

Then, try to either find a map in the game or use one online.

If you both know your position and communicated it to the other, plan out a place where you are both comfortable to meet and use the knowledge you gathered to navigate your way to there.
