Standalone servers question.

Recommended Posts

I'm not sure how, but I stopped playing DayZ for a few months, and when I tried to get back on the game I'd been banned. I heard that some people, like hackers could steal CD keys or something but I don't know, all I know is I legitimatley didn't hack, and that's a promise. If I did, then I wouldn't take the time to come out to the forums and ask about this, but finally, my question:

As I've been banned like this, will the servers enable me to still be able to play on the Standalone? I really like DayZ, think it's pretty crappy that I was banned for seemingly no reason, and hope that I can still play the Standalone despite people who feel the need to hack and ruin an amazing game for other people.

Thanks,

James.

No, hackers can't steal your CD key whilst you are both in-game. That is a lie.

And you weren't banned for no reason. You were banned because you either hacked/cheated or your CD key was stolen and the thief hacked/cheated on there.

Standalone will allow you to play again, regardless if you are globally banned.

Yeah you will, when you purchase the standalone it will have it's own product key not related to the mod in anyway.

I didn't say that they stole it while I was in game, I stopped playing for a while and when I tried to get back onto the game after about a month or so I was banned.

Oh, my mistake--but in that case, you hacked/cheated and were caught by the sneaky BattlEye.

But I didn't hack, that's the one thing I know for sure in this topic, I was banned for doing nothing but not playing for a month or so.

If I was going to hack the game why would I come on here making a topic about wanting to play again? I don't even know how to hack, and I've been killed by hackers and know how annoying it is.

You weren't banned for doing nothing. It doesn't matter if you didn't play on any Arma related server [DayZ as well] for a month or so, you hacked/cheated prior to that.

If not that, your CD key was stolen [which is your fault] and the thief hacked/cheated on that.

Nothing more need be said.

Yeah, I know that's what happened. How is it my fault?

Well, you allowed someone access to your CD key via your computer, or you downloaded some hidden CD-stealer; possibly something that you thought might fix your FPS, some "free hack", etc.

I wouldn't have needed anything to fix my FPS as I can already run Arma 2 and DayZ well, I wouldn't be interested in looking for a free hack, as I said because I think it ruins the game. Only thing I can think of is when my friend came to play DayZ on my PC and was doing something I didn't recognise. How would he have got my key?
