Installing beta patch on server

Recommended Posts

I have no idea how to do this. Can anyone please give me instructions on how it works?

I've tried installing the beta patch directly on the server, but it keeps telling me 'wrong cd-key'.

I keep getting this, and I think the only way is to possibly extract the files to your PC then install the beta and move them across to the dedi, could be wrong though

I'm just confused. I tried that, but it's not working.

People just get stuck on 'Loading' on my server. The hiveAuth and Hive also doesn't show any activity at all after initialization.

I have no idea what's going on or how the hell to get my server working today. :(

Try this if you installed via Steam:

On your server, launch Steam and open the Games Library.

Right click on Arma2: Operation Arrowhead.

Click 'Reinstall BattlEye Anti-Cheat'.

Wait for install to complete.

Once the install is complete, try to launch the Arma 2 Beta patcher again.

If it works, go into your Steam directory and find the Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead Expansion folder (default is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion).

Copy the 'beta' folder from there into your DayZ servers Expansion directory, overwriting any beta files already there.

Ah, thanks. That worked.

Is there anything I need to add to the command line to have it run the beta?

I copy the beta over from my pc to the server. Not my steam account on the server.

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\beta\arma2oaserver.exe" -beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion -mod=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\expansion;ca;@dayz;@hive -name=cfgdayz -config=cfgdayz\server.cfg -cfg=cfgdayz\arma2.cfg -profiles=cfgdayz -world=Chernarus -cpuCount=4 -exThreads=1

Edit your bat file to match the above and it should work. Assuming your paths are are the same as mine.

I've tried your parameters, but using them simply makes my server crash, even though the paths are the same.

Dunno if you copying and pasting mine exact but the " at the beginning are important.

Can you post up yours, open the bat file you are using via right click edit and paste the contents in here.

Ah, made a mistake while copying. It's opening the server now, but now the issue is that my server simply no longer shows up in the server list when searching for it.

Edit: Wait, no. people are joining the server, it just seems I am unable to see it now, for some strange reason.

Just above that in the server.cfg is:

//reportingIP = "arma2oapc.master.gamespy.com"; // For Arma2: Operation Arrowhead

Remove the // if its not showing in the master list.

Okay, thanks. Got everything working and I just got in. Also managed to fix the error 16 that was continuously kicking everyone, making them get stuck at Loading.

Thanks for all the help, guys. I owe you all.
