Whats your view on disconnecting to avoid hackers

Still wouldn't do it. While hackers are complete exploiters and ruin the immersion completely, the fact still stands:

If you KNOW he is a hacker then sure, leave the server, play somewhere else.

However, KNOWING entails having more information than you could possibly have. Teleportation is a symptom of ARMA 2's terrible netcode, and is not a valid reason for disconnecting. You THINKING he has a certain gun, without actually knowing for sure (spoiler, you can't know) is not good enough. Maybe he was wearing camo clothing and you got confused.

By all means, if 20 guys roll into cherno with tanks and attack helicopters, leave the server and find another one. By the sounds of your story however, someone flanked you and you got scared, so you discod.

How can you see him teleport in if he appears behind you?

I Just froze in confusion when everyone was dying, I didn't disconnect as I thought "Oh well I Only have a bad weapons and I would never get anywhere from Stary Sobor" Then I Died.

i'am a veteran arma 2 player and he was definitely wearing the pilots outfit from the arrowhead expansion which has the specific helmet and he did teleport because i was looking over my shoulder as he did it but this is not what this threads about it's about your guys opinion about disconnecting to avoid a hacker

I play realistically. I consider disconnecting akin to "going to sleep" or something similar. Thus I will only do it when my environment is carefully considered and I am 100% sure, or at least as sure as I could possible be, that I am at least 500m from the nearest alerted player/zombie.

Thus I would say no, because even in a case as the one you described, disconnecting would require considerable meta gaming, too much meta gaming. I feel that such a thing goes against the spirit of DayZ.

In other news, I do know about ALT. However, it does not allow me to look directly behind my character. Do yours? Perhaps you have, dare I say, hacked it?

Also, being a 'veteran' and all, you might be aware that you can log out when you see someone, log into another server and reposition, then log back into the first server and BAM! There's your 'teleporter'. I do not recommend doing this as it is a dickmove and against the spirit of the game, but regretfully, noone ever pays any attention to my recommendations.

It is shitty when hackers enter the server and fuck things up, yes, but combating cheaters with exploits makes you no better than the hackers. I only say this because if no one knows the name of the hacker, and he acts like a cunt and says "Player X Alt-F4'ed, I was right there!", an active admin may ban you immediately.
