Draxx (DayZ) 61 Posted December 5, 2012 I am sure DayZ standalone will be a success.1.) If the hackers have a hard time and the anti cheat software is good.2.) The performance of the game will be increased, so older rigs can play it also with a good frame rate.3.) Chernarus Plus has a lot more enterable buildings4.) There will be an endgame and craftingThese points will bring a lot of players back who abandoned the game right now. This game has something special and players recognize it. When the hacking problem is solved, the main problem is gone. And I am sure in the standalone this issue will be gone.WarZ is not worth to mention. That game will never be a real competitor for DayZ. Just try this game for yourself and you will know what I mean.
ImageCtrl 719 Posted December 5, 2012 They seem to be sort of interested in the standalone but most will be sticking to War Z by the looks of it.I do agree there should be more trees in War Z.My coment was not about "more trees", but you are right, they need more also.It was about the size. The oversized doors! Especially in Boulder City. You can see it clear that many of the buildings were simply enlarged to make the small map bigger. That one can overlook, but I wonder just a little bit ... The doorhandle is in any case above the head, and from the size it is also about the character's head.Or the crashed aircraft. That would be a super-mega-jumbo jet. The stairs inside have to jump high because a level approximately equal to the leg length of the character. The same applies to the house with the four flights of stairs on the sides. For me it looks cheep.Sky looks nice in warz, but it s only a picture. No wether engine. Wallpaper in horizon looks also nice, but only wallpaper. It´s not part of the map like in dayz. joebandit 23 Posted December 5, 2012 will DayZ Standalone survive after it's release ? Or has the hype died a while ago ? Is it because of the competition (the other Z) ?I think the real competition that dayz will have is this New Dawn: 2015 game...not war z.
woots 82 Posted December 5, 2012 Since Standalone will be using VAC, the cheating will still be there, which means people wont. It may die
rooneye 135 Posted December 5, 2012 (edited) All thats happened is the band wagon jumpers who will play anything thats popular to get views have stopped playing as much. The people who actually like the game for the game itself are still playing it. Plenty of them, and Im sure the band wagon jumpers will be back on when the SA comes out and everyone is playing it/talking about it. And also the people who think SA is going to be sooo much different and better than the mod as it is now have stopped playing and are waiting for SA. Personally I think these people are going to be disappointed to find its very similar and the experience will be pretty much the same just smoother and more polished with less hackers. If the game isnt fun enough now for you to put up with a bit of frustration, the SA isnt going to be either for you IMO Edited December 5, 2012 by Rooneye
