rekais910 2 Posted December 4, 2012 So.. long story short.. I was on an empty server getting some practice in.. I'm a big fan of the post apoc survivals and I am incredibly impressed with this mod so far. I am also happy to hear that there is a stand alone in the works and once I get my new job you have my support (but much less of my play time). but yes all alone.. with a hatchet.. random zombie near by only a few steps away.. usually I just crawl walk and then smack em.. but this time I didn't walk I crawl ran and swung.. nothing happened to the zombie.. just just hobbled on away.. instead.. suddenly I hit the floor and bleed out all unconscious OH and a broken leg.. woo.. so.. did I axe myself through weird buggy physics?Bonus question! anyone else think that when they finish the stand alone they look into new kinda of enemies and even CPU bandits hiding in the forests as part of future updates?
rekais910 2 Posted December 4, 2012 OH and yes.. second bonus question... when I die.. the respawn button doesn't actually respawn and I didn't read anything about how to respawn in the dozen of noobie tutorial threads.. is there anything special? or should you just get back to the server lobby? which entails abort then I'm ready I believe
Welch (DayZ) 756 Posted December 4, 2012 (edited) That's weird. And no, they won't have AI bandits or anything. AI's in Arma's engine can see you from hundreds of meters away and will fire on you with ridiculous accuracy before you even see them. Also, this isn't a blog. You can edit you posts, so please do so. rekais910 2 Posted December 4, 2012 That's a good point.. and yes it was weird.. I just fell onto the ground and bled to death after swinging the axe.. oh and broken bone.. seems like if you are moving forward too fast maybe it registered as me getting hit instead of our zombie marathon limper? Dancing.Russian.Man 1631 Posted December 4, 2012 (edited) You most likely had a severe case of Dickus Glitchus.Sometimes zombies can one-hit you in the legs, causing them to break. It used to be very common, but now it's rather rare. But! Player(and zombie) models can collide, meaning that sometimes if a zombie runs right into you, they can either push you slightly, send you flying, or send themselves flying. Also causing rather major damage to both parties. So I guess that happened.Edit; God damn furries infesting this fine forum. Welcome. Then choose 'disconnect' at the scoreboard. Then choose 'ok' at the last screen (which is the first screen when you log in, the screen with all the playernames). rekais910 2 Posted December 4, 2012 Thanks for the info and it's good to see another furry among the survivalists.. though I hold disdain for most of the community.. some of them just make me wanna join the zombies
