I am sad

Recommended Posts

I stopped playing for a few months and came back to find the majority of people on private hive servers, and the few populated normal servers to be harassed by hackers. (One of the two servers I found that actually had admins on, Dallas 1, just went down and has suspiciously been replaced with "Dallas 001 somethingsomethingRuskiClan." I now have nowhere to play; it's boring with only 3 people on a server).

What the hell happened? It's really gay that so many people are on private hive servers. I can't imagine that Rocket hasn't said something about private hive servers in the past, so does anyone know why he allows them?

Not sure what the issue with private hive servers is. I play primarily on them and have a great time. There are good servers out there with good honest admins.

Because of the limitations of stopping hackers most players have flocked to private hives. I imagine this will change with the SA release.

Standalone is coming soon(within a month if all goes well) so private servers were allowed. They are the same as public ones(actually better), just without your gear carrying over. Best thing to do is check out a few, and pick 1 or 2 as your main ones and keep using them.

You will get way less hackers on private servers along with better performance most times. Some even have custom loot spawns and extra buildings put in.

private hives bring so much more life to the game. i'm glad i don't have to spend 3 hours travelling all of chernarus to find a makarov, just to have it lost due to a hacker. some of the best times i've had on dayz have been on private hive servers, with modified versions of chernarus. i don't get the hate.

This is just a result of those pesty hackers. That is why I also switched to private hive servers. If you get killed over and over because of these script kiddies, you try to find a solution. And those private hives helped a lot. Of course there is sometimes a hacker, but not every 30 min. I abandoned my fully geared char on public hives, because it is just no fun to run through the wilderness and you get teleported, killed, and so on.

As Venom56k wrote - get one or two private hive servers and create a char there. This cannot be a big problem because if you play on publics your char will get killed by a hacker. There is no question IF you get killed by a hacker, the question is just WHEN. Then you also have to start all over again. And why not start on a private hive? Get one which is populated and you have a lot of fun. I promise. And of course with not too much hacking problems.

And as soon as the standalone is released, I hope we can play on publics WITHOUT those damn script kiddies.
