So I wanted to make a machinima type film for dayz, how could I launch the Dayz in the singleplayer editor and place zombies and such? Do I need to get another addon or something?

You can run a server off your own computer and run scripts to spawn zombies and anything else you want (make sure battleye is off). I've done this myself so I could kill zombies with a F-35 and such. Or you probably could even find a way to edit the mission but I don't know how to do that.
