How do i parachute?

Just jump at a half decent height, like 150+ and it should deploy automatically :D

But seriously, for a real answer, parachutes do not exist in DayZ. BUT, ejecting from a helicopter that's going down will give you a better chance of surviving the crash more or less. Just don't eject too soon.

Parachutes exist in DayZ.

They work pretty well on large helicopters, but worse on small (littlebird).

If your heli moves too fast and toward ground your parachute may get too little airtime. Adjust height of parachuting.

On small choppers you shouldnt parachute if the chopper is descending, only parachute chopper is getting altitude.

This is due to a bug in Arma2 causing parachute to clip into chopper model.

Wait what, since when did they not exist in DayZ? last time i heard about them the parachuting system was improved, in fact last time i jumped out a chopper witch by the way wasn't so long ago on a normal Chernaus server and gracefully floated to the ground.

Best chance for no injury is to make sure heli is not in movement forward or backward. It needs to be stationary.

Really? The last time I jumped out of a helicopter there was no parachute there to save me. I was pretty stationary too. I guess I'll need to go jump out of another, then!

Maybe before the system was updated when parachute glitches occured, or sometimes some server admins can turn the feature off completely.

your my servant now mr nimzy i found one. just kidding but i quickly Skype my friend and he got the heli and i test it out and guest what happen the parachute open yeah!!!!!!!!!!!! but the bad thing once i hit the ground i got snipped by a bandit or someone and i died!!!!!!!!!! freaky hell rage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and i had a gillie and a as50 FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU.......CKKKKKK!!!!!!!! Well First off- Why the hell would you jump out of a heli for your first time ( Knowing you don't need a parachute) With that gear? Yes it is no longer as glitchy but still you can die pretty easily and very easily spottable

Before the patch ive made 3 successful parachute drops from the Huey, all around 100-150kmh with 100 Altitude.

Not tested it since the update though.

Wrong.

Read the posts afterward. This was already addressed. After being told by about 6 people I thought parachutes did not exist in DayZ because that's what they told me. NOW, they do exist.
