Current Issues In Dayz (Summary)

Recommended Posts

Just making a short list. I know you probably know these, but just in case...

1. Tents aren't saving properly all the time. Sometimes they do, but sometime they revert to a previous save. Sometimes they keep the data changed, even doing so for several days, then bam, its back to what it was days ago.

2. Some vehicles aren't saving properly. One server, the white truck - you repair it... and then its broken again. Always something different broken back at its spawn point.

3. Engine drops are way too many. In a recent patch the drop rate was upped, but now I can find engines EVERYWHERE (have 6 in a tent.... derp) and very very little of anything else. Several friends have commented on the same thing. Was better before, Engines you had to look for a little, but tires and windows were more plentiful. Now... if you need 2-3 wheels... good luck. Ran for an hour today just looking for wheels and only found one. Very boring. Before I could find parts for a vehicle and then get to use the vehicle. Now, I repaired the engines on three vehicles... but can't find enough wheels to even get one going. So whats the point of repairing them?

4. Were zombie run speeds upped recently? They are dashing pretty fast again. Plus they instant hit you with NO animation. Walked into a building, a zombie was laying down that I didnt see. AS he gets up, he hits me TWICE. No arm swings, nothing. BAM BAM. Thats just a bit lame, because it happens all the time now. At least before zombies had to swing at you. They did take a funky 3-4 step dying run. But that was more manageable than no animation hits & ziggy zaggy hyper running.

There are far, far more issues.

But anyway, this is not a suggestion thus moved to the General Discussion area for better viewing.

Are you suggesting that car engines be rare? They would be pretty common i would think. I agree that wheels should be common.

For Standalone, hopefully instead of just finding them dropped on the ground you could just scrounge a wrecked car for its parts.

agreed, problems are far more at the moment

the inventory (one big problem to be honest), female skins not working, random spawn dieing and respawning in debug, MAJOR performance issues, parachuting kills you, weapons are highly unbalanced regarding the AS50 and L85, night vision is unrealistically powerfull (range, rain), zombie AI paths, getting stuck, immune to bullets due to some animations, and far more regarding zombies, duping is still possibe (not telling how though), vehicles still repair themselves when nobody sits in them and they are all green, farming loot spots with loot piling is FAR to powerfull and fast, crawling at some spots breaks legs etc. etc.

many of them are problems regarding the engine, and yes, i still play and they are to most things avoidable, still they are problems and i have high hopes for the standalone

i think rocket will be able to make the game playable without constantly thinking about possible bugs

Don't forget the major delays when vaulting, changing weapons, changing stances, trying to use a flashlight, climbing up and down ladders.

Try tossing a nade during a gun fight. This and all the stuff mentioned by others (inventory, etc) needs more addressing in standalone than anything else.

I'd like to cast my ballot for a fluid, responsive, yet realistic character control.

(I don't mean CS style quick weapon swaps)
