I have a 15'' macbook pro and i didn't want to install boot camp until i was sure i could run this game

2.53 GHz intel core 2 duo

8 gb ram

nvidia geforce 9400m 256MB

You've got a very weak CPU. ArmA II is very CPU intensive for god knows what reason.

There is no real way to be certain if you can run it without trying it out yourself. I recommend getting ArmA II Lite first to see if you can run the game. DayZ runs slightly smoother than normal arma though.
