CD key stolen

Recommended Posts

For the past few days, i have been unable to play Arma 2 due to my key being in use. Now, after checking to see if i could play, i was prompted with Battleye global ban #4e5f8e. I have proof of purchase, Screenshots of the ban error and the CD key in use, plenty of witness to testify against my usage of illicit programs and both my Arma 2 and Arma 2 OA cd keys. Battleye and Bohemia have been of no assistance, even as i sent in all my evidence. I miss playing Day z with my friends.

The DayZ devs have literally no ability to unban you. You must have downloaded something dodgy for your Key to be stolen, and I suggest you clean out your computer if you intend to buy ARMA 2 again, otherwise you will just have it stolen again.

Although you could just wait for the Standalone.

You will need to buy a new copy if you want to continue playing.

It's not great news for you but your CD key is your responsibility to keep safe. It can't just be taken, you need to allow a programme to take it from you. This can be done by visiting dodgy sites, downloading software from dodgy sources, and so on.

If you've downloaded something in the past and you can't confirm that the source is 100% legit then that's your culprit.

Bis/BE are quite firm on keeping your Key safe.

The likely-hood of BE or BiS assisting you further are negligible. Ensure your PC is clean before attempting a purchase of another key.

PS. enough info? Lock?

Yup, locked.

TL;DR : Contact Battleye, although there's pretty much no chance of them lifting the ban.
