narwaljunior 18 Posted November 15, 2012 Solution: kill the bandits. They won't hesitate on you.Of course, I play as a Medic, and it seems that the servers with side chat enabled actually have friendly people playing. Just before I got on here I was playing on IL 5 and I meet 6 friendly people. One guy was passing out everywhere but was obviously new to DayZ since he was giving his position out all the time. 2 others just went to the Cherno church after I pointed to a Alice pack laying on the ground. One guy had a hatchet and chased me down swinging like a madman, didn't know he had low blood so I attempted to shoot his legs out and let the fool save himself, but he died. Then there was this bambi who was hiding behind some bags, and I just layed down in front of him and said hello. He didn't move and was obviously terrified, I dropped an m1911 for him and he didnt shoot me!All in all; Bandits will be Bandits, and Heroes will be Heroes, while Hackers will be Hackers. Its how they want to play, well the Hackers are just the non-needed aspect of the game. Some people say zombies are worthless in difficulty, I can't count how many times i've died to being knocked out by them or cornered in a house. Maybe its just because I am awful at planning.
simonjames (DayZ) 10 Posted November 15, 2012 (edited) Dayz has always had fucktards that want to shoot lesser geared players to try to make believe they are actually bandits ....while a real pvp player would see no point in this as it involves no skill the above mentioned seem to take delight and think this actually improves the game ..Hopefully now black ops is out they will move across there and take delight in camping with whatever gun is deemed OP at this current time ,But sadly they will always exist . Nor are there any OP guns that I can see, both stat and performance wise.

oldfossil 59 Posted November 16, 2012 Maybe people's behaviour change like in a real apocalypse, in the beginning people wants to cooperate with each other, but when the mess grows up and the hope to restore a normal situation fades out, a lot of people becomes more brutal and make their way to survive in a criminal mood, is like if there is a progressive loss of humanity that goes along with the increasing difficulty of the situation (lots of survivors against a lack of resources). porkus_maximus 36 Posted November 16, 2012 In one point of our life we have most likely came to the question; why has DayZ changed so much?Basically people realised that DayZ is a really bad survival simulator. There's an infinite supply of food and water which is extremely easy to obtain, while vehicles may be rare (at least on vanilla hives) fuel is also infinite and vehicles can run forever with little need of maintenance. Once people figured out that survival was a piece of cake and a character could achieve all the essentials for survival in less than an hour of play time, they realised that the real challenge/entertainment would be found in player vs player combat. I mean honestly whats the point of going all the way up to the NWAF to get funky military grade loot if you're not going to try and kill another player? Are you really going to go all the way to the barracks for an m240 just so you can kill zombies and random animals? When it comes down to it the unique game play elements of DayZ are very shallow and the standard Arma2 mechanics are what most people experience. Hopefully the stand alone can change this.
